Papier-Mache Today [McGraw, Sheila] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Papier-Mache Today Review: A good resource for papier mache - This is a good book for beginner's. She tells you all the supplies you will need, though you may not want to buy all of them at once. She tells you what you need for each project. The instructions are simple and accompanied by photographic illustrations. What I really liked was that she also gave tips for antiquing, decoupage, and other techniques. I also really liked that she gave a homemade clay recipe, which I have used and find to be great. While polymer clay may be better for small items, this clay is easier to mold--which makes it nice for larger sculptures. I didn't like many of the projects in the book, since many were rather ugly, but I was able to form my own ideas from the helpful tips...so I do believe it is a good resource book. Review: Get this book first - I'm making Santos and haven't used paper mache for years so bought several so-so books, learning bits from each one. This book has all the info you'll need to begin and advance using this medium. I'd say it's possibly the only book you'll need if you're like me and push, experiment and learn on my own. The projects are simple, basic, mostly school age level. But the amount of solid information there is complete. You can take what you learn from this and apply it to more complex projects. Refreshing to find an artist who is so generous with her experience!

Beautiful book. Great ideas.
This book has great project ideas with easy-to -follow and understand instructions, including pictures. Additionally, the back of the book describes techniques used in creating paper-mache artwork. The finished project pictures are all in color and large enough to see details. I feel this book would be classified as an intermediate level paper-mache project guide. I will be making more of the projects in this book, as they can be made as depicted, or customized to suit the artist's imagination!

This is an old instruction book. It's okay and does provide basics for Papier Mache and some interesting projects. It took a very long time to get here. I ordered it used.

fun projects
Sheila is good with her instructions and has a lot of fun projects for youngsters. If you already have her other books then this may or may not be necessary but if not then you would find fun things to make. My only issue was with the seller who was not honest about the condition of the book and never did make it right. (no reflection on the writer of the book or Amazon though.)

Great crafting book with clear instructions.

Love this book. If I manage to make a mermaid like on the cover, it will have been worth buying just to achieve that.
