Great Piano Theory
This is a great book to advance your child’s piano theory and understanding. It is a little bit more of a deep dive and extra practice that isn’t in most piano theory books. So glad my teacher recommended it!

Because the piano teacher said so
My daughter's piano teacher asked the parents to buy this book for her while she's taking lessons. I think it has great theory and not a lot of extra for the kids to learn piano. My only gripe is that the binding can't take the abuse of a 6-year-old. The cover fell over after a few weeks of use - again, probably due to my daughter not knowing how to gently handle the book.

I highly recommend this music theory collection to all musicians whether as ...
This volume from the 11 book set of theory books is essential to me in my piano studio. You can also buy answer books for all the volumes. In the later volumes this will be helpful. It is interesting how towards the end of all volumes except the Preparatory volume there is a heading called the "Four Periods of Music History". For the 1st volume all four periods fit on one page. In each additional volume the four periods are expanded so that by the 10th volume the information has grown to 6 pages.I highly recommend this music theory collection to all musicians whether as use in teaching or for personal use.

High Recommended
This is a wonderful in-depth theory book I highly recommend for beginners. It has a professional, mature layout but is still useful for young children! I use this for my piano students after they have passed the Preparatory Level.

Best Theory series out there.
I have students who have gone through all 11 levels…they have no problems passing AP theory! Fantastic books.

Good Basic Book but not clear
I’m an adult taking piano lessons. Although I’ve been playing a few years, my first teacher neglected to teach me basic music theory. My new teacher asked me to buy this work book to aid me in learning what I missed. Overall, it’s very good… but I would not recommend it unless you have a teacher. The assignments are often very unclear as they don’t always give you an example of what they want you to do. There is also not an answer key, so unless you have a teacher to look at your answers, you have no idea if you’re right or not. So… yes, it’s a good work book, but I took away a star because the assignments need explanations.

Great theory book for beginners moving into intermediate
I use this theory book for my students who are clearly advancing through the lower levels of whatever piano course they are in. The book gets straight to the point, covering all the important concepts in an orderly fashion. No "fluff" like you find in beginner books but holds the interest of my 10 and up students.

This is a great theory book for beginners
This is a great theory book for beginners. There are no unnecessary pictures that distract students along with clear directions on assignments. Also, each unit was thought out carefully, and it follows a very logical and systematic order. I use these books for all of my students.
