Will this fit my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport (XJ) not Grand

Yes. I installed this on my 2000 Cherokee (XJ) Sport with no trouble. All the mounting hardware and fishing tool are included. It's very well built. The longest part of my install was the wiring harness I bought with it (also not a problem though). I have had this installed on my rig for 3 years. I have pulled our boat to and from and it's held up well. Good hitch.

Will this be strong enough to pull my boat that weighs 1,260lbs?

Depends on the weight of the trailer, but it should be fine. It towed that and more when my ex used it to move away with the Jeep it was on.

Can this be removed and installed on another vehicle if I get a new (old) jeep in the future?

Hi,Curt products are custom fit to the vehicle. Curt Part #13084 fits the 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee so if you have a vehicle in that range the hitch can be re-installed with all necessary hardware.
