Got bored during the pandemic, made this, and now I start my international tour next week ...
All kidding aside, the customer service at CBGitty is second to none, and the laser-cut kits are fantastic for beginning enthusiasts like me to get my feet wet. I can't tell you how fun it is to play. I have upgraded it to use a GittyBucker pickup with tone and volume controls, as well as a dual spring internal reverb. It sounds fantastic, and really adds an organic sense of roots authenticity to pretty much any kind of music you want to play. Great guitar, easy to make.I would make one comment, and that is use white glue on this everywhere EXCEPT for the top. Use hide glue for that in case you later wish to decide to open it up and make some modifications as I did. A lesson from upright bass and violin luthiery that I applied here let me make the mods without much fuss, as hide glue is heat and damp reversible.

Love it
My first CB Gitty kit and build. Everything needed and I put my own creative finish to give it some character. Very pleased with the quality of each component and the sound. Easy to play and good action on the fretboard. Like it so much just purchased another one ! Easy to assemble with som simple wood working tools.

Good project for musical carpenters!!!
Sorry for the delay on this review. Bought it last year as a birthday gift to myself then quickly put it somewhere so I could forget about it for about 10 months. Finally put it together so let us begin…..Do you own tools? Are you good with those tools? Do you have the patience of a saint? If no then look away! If you do decide to purchase this entertaining little kit, the first thing you’re gonna wanna do is find all the tiny screws from the kit, carefully pick them up, and throw them in the trash! Then get yourself some half inch wire nails and wherever it says tiny screw…use a nail, otherwise you will slowly go insane as each little screw becomes thread bare the second you attempt to screw them in. If you don’t own a bunch of tools, feel free to head to the Home Depot to get yourself a jigsaw because you’re gonna need one of those, might as well pick up some clamps while you’re at it (don’t forget the 1/2 inch wire nails) and on the way home pick up a fifth of whiskey you’re gonna want that too.Clear a decent space away from younger family members and pets alike. Do NOT assemble anything until you’ve made all cuts! Once you’ve put down the jig saw…. I recommend one shot of whiskey every 30 minutes or so to calm the nerves. After the cuts, it’s all a balancing act of clamps, tiny nails, bad attitudes and waning interest. Be prepared to fight through feelings of despair. If you can do that, you can make this guitar! Once it’s all together it will look like a one armed child made it….and not the smartest child either. So have lots of paint and frilly metal thingies around to dress it up. When you’re done you will have a 3 string guitar that sounds sort of like the one you could have bought completely made for $50 less. But hey…you now own a jig saw and have a pretty good buzz going so enjoy the day!!!!

Banjo Magic
Let me just say. I have no guitar experience, I know how to work with wood and saws but this was just fantastic. Nothing is more satisfying than striking that first low G when you start the stringing process, I was worried I screwed up the gap for the paint can lid but when I heard that majestic twannng bruh that was an amazing moment, hell of a build one heck of a 3 string guitar, next time I'll put an aux port for the next one I buy.

Got me hooked
I ordered it as my first cigar box style guitar and it did not disappoint. Well worth the money and has inspired me to build my own from scratch.

Nice kit!
Lots of fun to build. You could be playing it in a couple of hours or take as much time as you like on customizing and finishing. I added springs to the inside to give it some reverb, piezo bottle cap pickups and some other parts from gitty and Amazon.

Some Issues I had
Overall, this is not a difficult guitar to assemble. However, mine came with a bowed neck and the nut was too low. Hard to intonate after having to replace the nut.

Dead Easy and Lots of Fun
This was a joy to build and play. I added some faux old travel stickers and stain for a real old-timey look. Even without an electric pickup, it's got a very strong sound to it. Makes a great project to do with your kid(s).
