Christmas Cookies: Bite-Size Holiday Lessons: A Christmas Holiday Book for Kids

We love this book. Such a must have for the Christmas book collection. My kids are 2 & 4 but will be well loved for years to come. Only reason for 4 stars is cover flap was ripped.

This was a cute book and I liked the little “bite-size” lessons, but I wish it went more in depth on the lesson than just a sentence.

I was so excited when this book arrived. Let me first say, the illustrations are very cute and sweet. But as my husband and I read the book, our little one had no interest past the pictures. It's not little stories or thoughts of Christmas, it's like a very nice dictionary of good behavior. An example is that "Responsibility means putting away the cookie cutters...." not really what we were looking for. It does end with a nice message about peace and not wanting other's cookies. If I had it to do again, I wouldn't but it. Try "Snowmen at Night", or "A wish to be a Christmas tree"

My pastor suggested a number of children's books to have for Advent season, as a means to not only enjoy wonderful books with our little ones, but offering appropriate opportunities to discuss Christmas on a child level at evening devotions. This was my favorite book from the list I think. I loved it so much, I bought two of the companion books by Amy Krouse Rosenthal after the first of the year. I additionally recommend the Cookies book that is about Love. Enjoy.

This is the Amy Krouse Rosenthal book that I give to my granddaughters the Christmas they are 2 years old and I accompany it with a start of a Christmas cookie cutter collection which I add to every year. I give them another Amy Krouse Rosenthal "cookie wisdom" book each Christmas along with 2 new Christmas cookie cutters for their collection. This is a strikingly beautiful book both in words and illustrations. It's a treasure!

As a mother of 5 and grandmother of one, I have read and enjoyed volumes of children's books. Amy Krouse Rosenthal's books have an ingenious and significant way of teaching children essential character traits. She skillfully, yet simply, represents these concepts of the heart by relating them to every child's clear understanding and love of cookies.I applaud the author and illustrator! I wholeheartedly recommend these2 books. EVERY child should own them! I hope Amy has more in the works!!!!

Amy Krouse Rosenthal's books provide not only charming illustrations but are great tools for teaching good character traits to children while entertaining them and helping them develop a love of reading. Loved this book. It defines the meanings of words that children have a hard time understanding. The illustrations are beautifully done.
