Works perfectly and easy to do
I wish I would have done this sooner. You can save over $100 by using this instead of buying the normal cartridges. It is easy to do, only took me about 10 minutes. The colors look the same as regular cartridges. I have been using this for a month now, and am happy that I started refilling instead of over paying for ink. Some helpful tips:- Use a 1/16 or 1/32 drill bit instead of the included tool, it makes pretty large holes- Save the labels that you pull off of the cartridges, you can re-apply them after you drill the holes and refill- There are no instructions, but the youtube video explains it well. [...]- Don't stick the needle in too far when you refill, not sure of the exact material in there, but i read somewhere that it can be damaged- Use the included syringe slowly when you are adding ink, or you will have a magenta spot on your kitchen counter like me (it did come clean)- Your cartridges have a counter that tells you when the ink is low. You will get pop up messages saying that your ink is low, even after you refill them. You can google how to turn off low ink notifications for your setup.

Refill Directions, a picture says a 1000 words.
Heat a large paper clip and burn a hole-15 to 20 seconds to heat and pushes right through the little dot on the cartridge. This was so easy!- Save the labels that you pull off of the cartridges, you can re-apply them after you drill the holes and refill- There are no instructions. I used 5 ml in the black and about 2 in each color slot. I was not sure how much to add. Some places say 15 in the black. At 2 mm the blue was full although I am not sure it was actually empty. You really need to plunge the needle deep into the refill bottle to get it to pull up the ink.- Don't stick the needle in too far when you refill, go slow, you can see if it comes out the top assume its full.If your printer says ink is low, just close the window and it will print. I have heard you can some how disable this message. I just have been closing the window every time.

everything else is pretty much the same as advertised
few things:1\ don't mix these inks with original inks, wait until originals run out/almost run out to refill2\ ignore the suggested filling amount from instruction, even a small canon cartridge takes ~2/3 of entire bottle, just add with caution until it looks full.3\ if the original ink was dried/completely empty, AND the cartridge has a spongy tank (after you open the lid and drill the hole and poke with the needle, if the interior has a sponge feeling), need to wait quite a bit to let the new ink to reach the outlet. try the 5 page printing thing from the instruction. if does not work, just wait for a couple hours and try again.everything else is pretty much the same as advertised. overall would commend!

HOLY GOD I WISH I KNEW OF THIS SOONER!
I was so skeptical. I've tried refilling ink with other printers. I found only one YouTube tutorial for this exact brand, and that made me worry. I followed the instruction and it worked. Sure- I get error messages and my canon won't register the ink levels, yet still tells me it was replaced- press enter if I want to continue with the possibility of smudged lines etc. It worked perfectly! The only thing is, get a pair of good quality tight medical gloves. The gloves that come with it are terrible. It's hard to hold the syringe with them. And once this ink gets on your skin it takes lots of time to remove and forget it if it gets into your clothes. Just invest in good gloves and you're on your way to great printing. My project was beautiful and the ink was very vivid. I am finishing this review and stocking up on this stuff, because I no longer wish to be taken advantage of when I purchase ink. That stuff is a rip off! They don't even fill the dang thing all the way!

Works well if you are patient
This is my first time refilling color ink for my Pixma printer. I have successfully filled the black ink 3 times with the kit from Hydrax. I prefer this to the syringe squeeze bottles, as you can measure how much to put in, and the bottles ship better (I ordered a kit with the built in syringe tips, one of which leaked all over the package...plus, the squeeze bottles can overfill). I found a diagram online which shows the 3 areas to drill on the color cartridge...Magenta on top, Cyan(blue) on bottom left, Yellow on bottom right. I used a power drill very slowly, blowing of shredded plastic as I went. Do not push hard, as it will pop through and could damage the inside. At first the color would not fully work, so I took it out and set it on a paper towel to see each color beginning to flow. After replacing and doing a few maintenance scans, full color is now working. I put about 3 - 4 ml of ink in each hole. Take your time, and go slowly, and it will work.

Will definately buy again.
I bought both this refill and the black refill from ChromaLeaf. I was VERY satisfied with my purchase. It came with everything I needed to refill my cartridges (cannon PX 241xl and 240xl) I noticed that alot of people complained that the hand drill did not work. Well, just wanted to say that mine did work, you just have to use a little bit of muscle and it made a nice small hole for the needle to fit in for refilling. I refilled both my cartridges, and placed them in the printer. The black worked immediately. I had to add one more ML to each of the colors in the color cartridge as the recommended 4 ML did not seem to be enough. After adding the extra one, it printed with no problems. The ink came out very nice looking with no blotches or smudges. It gave me enough ink to refill about 4 more times. I would definately recommend this to anyone who wants to refill their own cartridges. Keep in mind, it CAN be a little messy but my package included plastic gloves and alcohol wipes. I didnt use the gloves but definately will next time. I had an old rag under my cartridges while filling and it did get on my table, but the alcohol wipe removed it completely from the table. I am very happy with my purchase, more so considering the cost of new cartridges for my printer cost $50, and I am able to refill them for way less than that and then some!
