Great seat once upgraded
I've noticed the price for this thing fluctuates like crazy so if you can get it in the $65 range like I did, you can upgrade it for just a bit more than MSRP.First off, upgrade the casters. The ones that come with the seat are pretty terrible. They don't roll well, the locking mechanism on mine simply did not work at all, and they make a ton of noise when rolling.I upgraded mine with the Homhoo 3" Stem Caster Wheels purchased from Amazon for about $28. You will have to drill out the existing caster stem holes to make it fit but the upgrade is massive. They roll smoothly and quietly and the lock actually works. Plus there is a lock on all 4 wheels instead of just 2.2nd upgrade is get a seat cushion. The stock seat is hard plastic. You can get a hard foam pad from Adams designed for the seat but even with that, it's still hard on your rear after an hour of detailing. The seat measures about 18x10 so I found a cushion (of course also on Amazon) that fits perfectly. It is the Tromlycs Saddle Stool Cushion 18x9.5. It comes in multiple colors including black if you want it to match. I got grey because it was on sale for $5 less than normal. The great thing is if you have the Adams pad, you don't have to make any modifications of any kind to make it work. The straps are long enough to go around the Adams pad and still are long enough that when the pad is pushed down onto the plastic seat, it still holds it in place. Otherwise, you would need to cut some slots in the plastic (see pics for location) to feed the straps through. You could also cut the straps off and just put the pad on top of the seat and let the little grippy dots keep it in place.Overall, I'm very happy with the seat now that I've added the upgrades. 5 stars with, 4 without.

OK
My husband said this is OK. It was pretty easy to put together but really uncomfortable because it's hard plastic. He's used it a couple of times but not sure it was a good gift for him.

A think a little too plasticky for my taste
Cons1. After installing it I noticed all casters are not flat on the floor and it wobbles a little. But that goes away if you sit on it.2. Feels cheap and plasticky3. Not easy to install the casters as they won’t fit as easy in to the holes.4. Seat with no cushion5 trays are not secured and can fall offPros1.Plastic won’t rust like my other metal garage seats2. It’s light and rolls with ease3. Comes with all the tools needed to instalOver all I think it is a 3.5 out of 5

A great detailing seat.
If you are looking for a detailing seat, spend a little more, and get this one. Firstly, I wish I'd have bought a seat much sooner, because it really makes a difference when working on wheels and the lower part of the car. Wheels can be awkward things to clean, and if you are detailing your car properly each wheel can be a fairly long process, so you may as well be comfortable. Secondly, this is a great seat. It's solid, but surprisingly lightweight. I'm around 230lbs, takes my weight no problem. The wheels are pretty big, and it rolls around super smoothly. I love it. I highly recommend it.

Not good overall
First, the wheels are worthless. They don't roll well. More importantly, they do that thing where one wheel goes one way and another wheel goes a different way so sometimes you just get stuck. Next, the brakes are worthless. And finally, one of the bolts holding the thing together just fell out. Easy enough to put back together but the thing was literally falling apart. Well, one more. The "cute" little trays? That's all they are, cute. It doesn't take much to roll around and have them fall off.I have seen some comments where the wheels were replaced, the brakes were replaced and a seat cushion was added. When you have to do that, there's no way this thing can be rated four stars. No way. When a product has this many flaws there's something fundamentally wrong.

Very Sturdy and Functional
I looked and looked for a sturdy, functional, and safe one. This item is sturdy; has a tray for tools and parts; and so my husband doesn't roll down the driveway, brakes. Very happy with this item.

Not good at all
This thing is junk. The "instructions" show the casters pre-assembled (the Griot's version of this stool does come with the casters pre-assembled), but they aren't, and the tools they give you (two-opened ended wrenches and a terrible philips screwdriver) aren't the right tools to assemble the casters. There's also an unlabeled vial of red stuff - presumably thread locker for the casters - that is not mentioned in the "instructions."The rubber end-stopper thru-holes didn't line up perfectly with the lower braces, so installing the casters was a chore. The trays don't lock in place and are hard to actually get into place. One bump against anything and the tray falls out.The locking mechanism on the casters is hilariously terrible, and the casters themselves are incredibly cheap.Avoid this thing. It costs $90 but feels like it costs $9. Adam's should be ashamed for putting its name on this crap.

Not sturdy
Not as sturdy as it looks. Wheels also don’t roll as needed.
