Alfie Pet - Toby Waterproof Recovery Collar for Dogs and Cats - Color: Blue, Size: XL

My dog had ear surgery and I ordered this in lieu of the soft cone I already had. This way he is able to eat and drink at any time without making a mess. I went by the note that said something like 16" neck go for XL. Surely it was user error, but this was a bit too big for my dog's 16" neck. As a pro though, I can easily slip it off and on without having to do the tedious snaps (those were not easy for sore hands). And, while he knew I could slipt it off, he did not attempt to do that himself. Also, if he gets it just right, he can totally scratch his surgery ear...it's not easy for him to do but occasionally he'd be able to get to it. Amazingly, he has also figured out how to get in and out the dog door with it. Again, not easy, but I'm glad. My boy is a 57lb. German Shepherd/Husky mix.

My Doberman HATES the regular plastic cone. As in, he freezes and won't move. He just shakes with anxiety. This one is tolerable. He was able to sleep in it and he had a bit less of a freeze response.This collar has inside foam tubes not loose stuffing. The tubes are very flexible and still soft enough that he can lay his head down. The material is water resistant (I haven't dunked it, but it looks like it would hold up to getting very wet), and the entire cone is much lighter than the reglar plastic one.The size works really well to keep him out of his abdominal area, but he was still able to reach his feet. It may not be a problem with most dogs, but Dobermans have long (adorable) snouts, necks, legs. I'm going to sew on one more "ring" to make it a little larger and that should do it. They should definitely have a long-nose version for the Greyhounds, Weimaraners, Dobermans, and stretched out puppers of the world.

I FINALLY found something to prevent my cat from licking and reopening her sore. I have tried EVERYTHING- even onesies, but she was always able to get to it (it's just above her hind leg on her butt area). This is well made, seems waterproof, lightweight, easy to put on because it has snaps! I bought a medium, which is a little large, but doesn't come off. She can eat, drink, sleep comfortably, etc. I never take it off. Surgery is too expensive so this is her life now. She seems okay with it. Highly recommend.

My order arrived in good condition. However, I was NOT pleased to find that the description of this product on Amazon.com is incorrect. Description says: Brand AlfieColor Blue & GreyMaterial NylonClosure Type Loop, HookThe closure type is NOT Loop, Hook. It is snaps. I ordered this particular product specifically to avoid the snaps. I will not be returning it because I can sew on hooks and loops but this incorrect description should be corrected.

My first review is below. I took a star away because my dog eventually figured out how to stick his legs out far enough to reach them. I'm still looking for a perfect collar. Don't know if I'll ever find one. A dog determined to reach his legs can perform miracles to get to them.I have tried every single style of Elizabethan collar. The only ones that worked were very uncomfortable. The inflatable one drove my dog crazy. He could not sleep or get comfortable in it. The hard plastic ones, well, everyone knows how bad they are. But those two styles did work. This collar works even better. It actually keeps my dog from licking his feet. The only problem with the collar is that it is not adjustable, although if it is a little tight you could not snap the bottom snap closed. If it is too loose you would have to find something, a collar maybe in front of it, to keep it on. Fortunately, my dog has a 13-inch neck and the XL size fit him perfectly. This collar would be absolutely perfect if it were more adjustable.

Our sweet girl Moxie has grass allergies at the beginning of summer, so when she gets an itch, she will NOT leave it alone. It's terrible 😢 She will growl at us when we try to put medicine on a hot spot she caused - the works! 😩This is the ONLY cone that has:1. Worked with her long corgi body2. Not hurt her neck3. Worked perfectly as a pillow4. Allowed her to navigate Life easily5. Has not bruised our shins and scraped the walls/loudly banged around under the bed in the middle of the night6. Has been super simple to wash7. Has withstood the test of timeThe mother of all bonus points: she walks right up when we call her to put it on! She is totally unbothered, and for a corgi that is really saying something. The buttons are great - she is afraid of the loud tearing sound of Velcro. We don't even have to re-button it each time bc her cute lil face pops right through the middle with ease! 🦊Does it look like her face is in the middle of the Looney Tunes logo? Yes. Is that part of the fun for us? Definitely. She is comfortable and happy when wearing it so we can't say enough good things about it, and have shared the name with friends and strangers alike!It has been a total lifesaver for our house.

The XXL collar does not have an opening to fit a large size dog’s neck. The sizing is much smaller than advertised. Do not purchase for a large dog

good idea, item folded in quarters and packed in plastic very tightly and put into a very narrow box for shipping, result was the foam Arrived in narrow box folded into quarters result, firm foam in the tubes that give it shape were pinched in along the folds on one side several days after delivery still the same. Poppers for closure, strong velcro would be better and another piece going across closure underneath as well. overall idea good needs more work , found it to be too flexible in the condition mine was delivered in.

The only thing that worked for us during my pup's spay! She chewed through the plastic one from the vet the first night, but liked this cone because she was able to use it like a pillow. This fit my pup who has a 15" neck. She had to wear a collar on top of the cone so that she couldn't wiggle it off her head.

Product description says XL fits neck girth 13" but the one I received measured at 3.5” with no stretch whatsoever. Very disappointing considering my dog has been wearing a hard cone from the vet and I wanted something more comfortable and less jarring when she walks into things.

Didn’t work for our dog because she was still able to reach her wound.

The quality is poor, and it doesn't do its job well.
