Super clean, don't need a hose to constantly clean this like the ones with the water ring. Now for the winter I can refill this daily by carrying a 1 gallon jug to the pen to top it off, rather than hauling it back and forth. Just set it on the ground, twist the top off and fill it. All my birds figured out the nipples just fine, but if you have a lot of birds you will have to make sure they catch on. Way less water mess in the pen.It will be nice to be able to remove the cord next spring. The cord is not really a cold weather cord so you will need to lay it out on a warmer day and get it situated for freezing weather.This was a great purchase, hopefully the heater will hold up well.

This product not only keeps the water from freezing, but the power cord is easy to disconnect for summer use. And perhaps most important (and overlooked?)of all is, because the container does not allow light to penetrate, it prevents the growth of algae!!! I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to no longer have to deal with cleaning algae.

Takes training chicken to use it but it works without leaking or getting water dirty. Stays clean

I wasted so much money on the feeders and waterers. This one so far is the best! The water doesn't get dirty, it's insulated, and it doesn't get algae. Worth every penny.

Although it was expensive, it's worth it for my hens to have clean, available water (especially during our heat wave). We're grateful!

I mean as a human being who doesn't need to use it...it's a fine product. The problem is my chickens need it to survive and they won't touch it for some reason. They have used other buckets that had nipples to drink from and was no problem. But this $90 heated one they simply won't drink from. Unlike the others this one hasn't leaked one bit so good news there but after a week with 8 chickens and the water level hasn't changed even a millimeter. If you can get your chickens to drink from it it will be well worth it but it didn't happen with mine

Large capacity means I no longer need to refill the water constantly. In north east NY with frigid winter temperatures the water does not freeze. I put it on top of an upside down bucket to elevate so the girls can get into a good position to drink. A nice long cord reaches to my outlet. I was worried about training the girls to use the nipple dispenser so I took the old water dispenser out of the coop for an hour and set this new one up. All I did was push one of the dispensers so some of them saw water come out and all the others followed the leader and started drinking. That was it! Trained in seconds! The only slightly negative comment I have is the lid is sometimes a bit difficult to twist off due to condensation. So I just put it on the floor, grip with my feet making sure I’m not hitting the dispensers and twist, this works just fine. They even supply extra dispensers in case the pre-installed ones stop working. I always double check the dispensers every time I refill the water to ensure they still work. This works great for me, I highly recommend.

This waterer holds a good amount of water and didn’t freeze in extreme cold. My chickens figured out how to get water from it naturally. I found that playing the waterer up at beak level as opposed to on the ground was more effective. I highly recommend this waterer.
