HOT SHOT Men’s Camo Huntsman Pop-Top Mittens – Outdoor Hunting Camouflage

These gloves are fantastic. They keep your hands very warm when worn mitten style, and still allow you nearly the dexterity of a gloveless hand when flipped back. The touch screen fingertips work great, and the thumb also flips back in case you need to zoom on your phone. The magnets that catch and hold the flipped back portions are present on the mitten as well as the thumb, and are a great silent way to transition from mittens to gloves and back again. A lot of companies use Velcro, but that isn’t ideal for a hunting glove due to the noise generated.Another excellent feature these gloves have is the ability to insert HotHands-style hand warmers inside a zippered pouch on the mitten part. This keeps your fingertips nice and toasty. The only complaint I have about these gloves - and it is a very minor one - is that the fingertip glove portions themselves are extremely thin and offer nearly no protection from the cold (very similar material to a summer workout shirt like UnderArmour). I realize the designer of these gloves was trying to balance between warmth and dexterity, and since the mitten offers all the warmth, they chose to go with full dexterity on the glove. This is great for hunting though, because the majority of the time you can wear the mittens, but if you need to shoot, you can flip the mittens back and not worry about anything getting tangled up on your way to the trigger. This makes them much safer than a mid-weight glove.I would, however like to see the company come out with a glove with all the same features as this one, just with a slightly heavier glove inside - something along the lines of a jogging glove. This new glove could be black, or any other color besides camo, and be marketed as an everyday glove. I work outside and would really like to wear these gloves at work, I just need to use the finger portions too much for this glove to offer protection from the cold. They have definitely earned their spot in my hunting bag though.Overall, an absolutely excellent design, and in my opinion, the best gloves on the market today. 5 out of 5 stars.

Great mitts
As I've gotten older I tend to feel the cold more than I used to, so I've found mitts keep my hands warmer than gloves. But these are both! You have the dexterity of gloves and the warmth of mitts. The thumb opening is nice ( I need my thumb to open my phone) but when it's very cold the thumb slot can let in the chill. The pocket for the hand warmers is great, but there is also enough room in the mitt to put the warmers right in with your hands as well. For me, a no brainer for hunting season.

Warm and Functional
Had these out hunting all morning in 17°F weather and they kept my hands warm. The magnetic flip mittens and thumbs worked well for me and the touch screen fingertip worked great. They cut the wind well, but it wasn't a wet day so I didn't get to check out how they performed in resisting moisture. Very happy with them after their first use.

Not work gloves.
I try to use outdoor cold weather products before I really need them. These gloves are ok for hunting but much too light for serious outdoor activities like tending livestock or cutting and stacking firewood. The "break line" on the palm area of "finger fold" hurts during regular use weather the fingers are exposed or not. The magnets stuck to the steel clad door as I was walking the dog just enough to get my fingers squashed. I tossed both of them at my front door from 10 feet and they stuck. FYI, Hunters should wear these AFTER locking the pickup! They are warm enough and the pocket for the warming should be a big help. All and all a good product for their intended use. Not recommended for "Work gloves".

Keeps hands warm
These mittens have built in thinsulate gloves inside, with easy fold-back for both the fingers and the thumb. (Thumb is skin-exposed when Thumb cover is folded back)A nice touch is that the folding parts all have disc magnets sewn in to hold the flaps out of the way when open. Another nice thing is the zipper pockets on the back of each mitten that are used for hand warming packets.Easily kept my hands warm for 6 hours in 20 mph winds, even without warming packets.Excellent product, well worth the price.

Great for winter cycling! Good warmth, good for touch-screen, too
I ride my bike on city streets all winter, except when there is snow or ice on the pavement.I have ordered (and returned) nearly 10 pairs of winter gloves and mittens.Only these are worth using in sub-freezing weather, in my opinion. What I like best:The method of exposing a single thumb allows me to pull it back with my teeth while riding. As a result, I don't need to use two hands! An exposed thumb works better on a touch-screen (my iPhone XS) in cold weather than any "touch-screen friendly" fabric on any of the gloves or mittens I've tried.Second favorite: these contain a zipper pouch that will hold a (thin) heat pack on the back of each mitten. These aren't warm enough for sub-25 degree (F) bike rides on their own (for my 70-year-old hands), but combined with Bar Mitts, these are quite sufficient. In fact, these are the best I've found.I highly recommend them for winter biking!

Very surprised....in a good way
I was skeptical about how well these would work, and I brought three extra pairs of gloves as backups hunting this season. I was shocked at how warm these were even with the fold back mittens and thumb section. My thinking was that it was an area that would let cold in. I love it when a product surprises you about how well it worked and this was one of those for me. During the hunt we were hit with 2 feet of snow and record cold 6F at 9500 feet elevation. One thing that was not cold was my hands. The switch from mitten to fingered glove was great, and I love the magnet. My hunting partner has similar gloves but with velcro and he hates them. If they're not snagging on something, they're loud to unhook and I place 100% of the blame on us not filling our tags on his crappy velcro gloves. Maybe I'll get him a pair of these for Christmas.
