We are enjoying these cards as a family including an 8 year-old who is excited about learning Geography. There are so many different ways to play and learn with these cards. I noticed some reviews from 2024 mentioning duplicate and missing cards. That was a specific batch with a production error but has since been fixed by the company and they were very responsive in resolving this issue. Highly recommend!

This is an awesome card game to engage with your children and encourage them to learn about flags. Countries and more. I just like to ask please replace the Iran’s flag with the correct flag. The right flag for Iran is attached. Thank you

Our family recently purchased The World Game. This review reflects us (three adults) having played it several times. We'd say it's fun in a learning-is-fun kind of way. The cards are well made, and included with the set is a map of the world of good, sturdy paper. One of the nice things about the game is that you can modify play in a variety of ways. The rules as provided, while fine, need not limit how you want to approach learning about other countries. For instance, we initially began playing with a mix of cards representing countries from all over the globe...pretty challenging unless you're already good at geography, which we are not (yet)! So instead, we'll work on countries one continent at a time. But that's just one example of how you can do your own thing. Also, we've noticed that the game's creator listens to suggestions from players. He fulfilled the wish of one online commenter by sending a pdf of countries in alphabetical order with their corresponding numerical designation on the game's map. We got that list when we purchased the game. And actually, we made our own list too, arranging the countries in numerical order so we can immediately find the name of any country on the map. Another addition we intend to make on our spreadsheet is primary languages spoken (data we will obtain through our own research). So, obviously, there are lots of ways you can expand on The World Game if you like. It is a cool little learning tool.

This has been a fantastic resource for giving my homeschooled kids a MUCH better grasp of world geography than I learned in public school. In an hour a week over the last couple of months, they've learned the majority of the countries in Europe, Oceania and the Americas, and we're moving on soon to Asia and Africa. It's been a good springboard to more in-depth study of countries, but I like how it forces you into an understanding of the relative sizes and positions of places- even if my kids can't point exactly to a country, they quickly learn a sense for where to look, which I consider one of the more important goals in teaching geography. The game play is snappy (essential for not losing your mind when playing with children) and the challenges and breadth of information mean it's still fun to play after you've learned every country in a region. The capital cities make for good quizzes when we're away from the table (am I the only homeschool parent who quizzes their kids when they're acting up??). As I see it, there are only two downsides. One is that I now know things I never wanted or intended to know, like the comparative areas of Honduras and Guatemala. The other is that our deck isn't complete, so I've had to make some replacement cards. We had an extra of Tanzania, Thailand, Eswatini, Suriname, Switzerland and Sweden, and we were missing Germany, France, Estonia, Finland, Fiji and Georgia.

I've traveled all over the world.... years (can I emphasize YEARS) ago. Was humbling to play with my kids and mother. They thought I knew all the answers. How did I forget so many capitals and locations... and cities I've been in? And the flags... hmmm... we played a modified version of this for my kiddos. Also, they could pick "who has less surrounding countries" or "who has the lowest highest altitude" "least population" so it wasn't the biggest = best. (That made it MUCH more fun when we started doing that.) Reminded me of many facts I had forgotten. And kids got a hit out of learning and guessing. My 7 year old was on the brinks of not really being able to play with much meaning. We managed. But my 11 yo was much more fun. My mom was super fun. She also gave hints and (although that's not allowed), it was more fun, too! My teen that is not at all interested in family games was still just not interested. So good game. Not magical, but educational and fun. We've played it multiple times. It's also nice and small, so could travel well. Oh, and because it's so random that Slovenia is #1 country (what's the background story behind that??), whoever gets it wins that round automatically. That also makes it more fun and highlights a country that is rather overlooked.

I play this game regularly with my husband and 9 year old son. It's a fantastic way to learn world geography in a fun manner.

My son and I love geography and this is the perfect game for us to play. He wants to play it everyday. He is 10yr. old in 4th grade and totally loves it.

Like any trivia game, most people don’t play following the rules, so we’re just picking up a card and covering the country and playing guess the country based on the flag. However, since we’re using it for school it’s disappointing that it’s so incomplete. I understand countries missing such as Kosovo or Western Sahara or Somalialand when they’re still in dispute over whether or not it’s a country of its own but there are well-known countries missing like Germany and France. I wish I would have laid them all out when we first got it so I could return it. I hope the seller will contact me and offer the missing cards. There are a couple that I actually wish we did have duplicates on, like Turkey & Russia, since they fall under both Europe and Asia so I could have a card for each continent. One last thing—I wish there were extra space in the box to place your discard cards after you’ve used them. Instead the compartments are only big enough to fit the full deck. It’d be nice if it was a long narrow box where you could put the used card at the back of the box, if that makes sense. This is a great game to play with the family. Easy and fun to play and with added bonus of being educational.

Fun game. Suddenly realize how less you know about other countries. Great for upskilling Geography and certainly a far more intriguing game than Uno :)
