LG UBK80 DVD Player

I purchased this Blu-ray player in particular because of its 3D functionality. I am so far very pleased with it and it works well with my LG PF1000U projector (which outputs sound on to an LG soundbar via an optic fibre with no sound/picture synch problem that I can perceive). I can now enjoy the projector’s 3D functionality and it’s certainly added enjoyable depth to my viewing, if you’ll pardon the pun. The relative minimalist front panel (i.e. no LCD display and just the most basic buttons) actually turns out to be a good thing as it doesn’t distract and I have not missed it. In particular, I turn the unit off at the mains when not in use and don’t then have the annoyance of having a time flashing 0:00 demanding it be reset when it is switched back on. That display was something I wondered whether I would miss and in fact I find it’s an advantage it’s not there. The insurance coverage offered by Amazon at the time I purchased this was quite a lot cheaper than the option LG suggests in the leaflets in the box. Obviously any buyer should consider for themselves whether any insurance coverage is necessary, appropriate and good value for themselves: I am just noting that the price difference in quotes was quite significant.

This is what i needed from day one for 4k movies. Being able to convert 4.3 movies to 16.9 is great. Looking at a full screen without black lines is worth the cost in itself. Plus being able to watch world wide discs is superb. And finding out this model also plays blurays from around the world is superb. Thats not in the guff about this machene is extra. So cool .

Easy set up, great picture quality, the user interface is simple to navigate and the delivery was fast. Only negative feedback would be there is no display when you pause the DVD player to allow you to see how long is remaining, remote could be bigger

I was fed up with DVD/Blu-ray players taking 30s+ before you could even open the drawer. This player boots fast and works well. Although a bit more expensive it is worth the extra especially with DVD region free.

Soon as it came I couyldnt wait to try a cpl of the dvds I bought that are the wrong region for my old DVD player to play and gues what they played not only that but the picture quality is incredible, So sharp and clear Rea;;y Really pleased and cant find any faults with it. The best player I ever bought and is totally amazing for the money. My friend has one that is top of the range and really expensive but you cant tell the difference in the picture quality and the remote control functions It is worth as lot more money in my eyes anyways dont pass up on the chance to get one of these I think it is good enough to have in the main room where you watvcch Blu ray or DVD movies etc

I've been wanting to buy a multi region player for quite some time and finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase this model. The unit took no more than 5 mins to set up and does exactly what you would expect, I've played some DVD's and found that the 4k upscalling feature works surprisingly well. Three days after I ordered it there was a £60 price drop which was an unwelcome surprise as you can imagine, I contacted the seller and they immediately offered me a price match and refund for the difference which was great customer service. All in all I'm very happy with the purchase and customer service received.

Having bought a new 4K tv from LG it made sense to buy a 4K Blu-ray player from them as well. Sure it works well, picture amazing but the settings interface is well ten or more years out of date. The biggest pain is that it needs to be set under user settings on full brightness otherwise all films are in the dark. But when you switch it off it forgets your settings and reverts to factory settings, really annoying! Come on LG, up your game.

Very happy with this player, excellent picture quality, even on old DVDs, one reason I bought it was for its multiregional DVD capability. Upscaling works very well.

DVD, Bluray, Ultra HD -- these plus CDs and home burned discs. -All are part of my library, and so how nice to find a reasonably priced player that seems to handle them all perfectly. The its sized to stack with standard hi-fi and video components , too, is a plus. It does with wireless connection -- which for most of todays systems is redundant -- was for me no problem. Maybe even a plus. Its remote is, as others say, very small. But its coding matcches an older LG remote that I still use on rare occasion. That to a player used solely for foreign coded DVDs. Now that one remote controls either and the rarely used player has its power cut off by an 'Alexa' switch so that it does not try to respond when I am not using it. I purchased the unit, listed a "used but like new", and got a box that quite obviously had never even been opened. I could not be more pleased!

Esteticamente lineare e semplice, senza particolari fronzoli, dotato di tutti collegamenti necessari unica pecca, ma lo sapevo, non ha il wifi, non strettamente necessario visto che il collegamento ad internet è necessario, eventualmente e praticamente per aggiornare il software, ma essendo un top di gamma una scheda wifi non avrebbe rappresentato un grosso onere per LG. Comunque prodotto funzionante anche e sopratutto con blu-ray in 3d, non ancora testato con 4k

This is a great Blu Ray player. I bought it to replace my old Pioneer (Sharponeer) BDP-330 which no longer received updates and couldn't play newer titles. This LG player loads much faster than my old player and has worked flawlessly. I love that it has a nonsense display and that it is a simple device for my home theater system. I'm very happy with this choice.
