Q: In the products shots the "red" looks more burgundy than the "crimson", but in their swatch sheet it is the opposite. Which is darker?

We use it to stamp our pizza boxes, which are plain card board. The stamped image does dry a little darker red but still very red. Not burgundy at all.

Q: Is the dry pad appropriate for water based inks? The pad is usually foam.

The dry pad is for users who have their own ink which they buy in bulk, mix themselves or use a different type of ink (such as permanent ink). Yes, it can be used for water-based ink. The colored stamp pads use Trodat Ideal water based ink.

Q: Is think ink washable or waterproof?

Hi there - the ink is water based. It will wash off hands with with soap and water. It's not considered washable - which washes off with just water. It's also not considered a permanent ink - which won't wash off. Right in the middle. Perfect for stamping uncoated paper stocks. Coated paper, plastic, metal - would require a permanent ink.

Q: How many stampings can I expect to get from one 2oz refill?

The number of impressions you can get really depends on the size of your stamp, specifically how much is being stamped with each impression. Small stamps can get thousands of impressions per ounce of ink. Larger stamps (i.e. 6x8") that stamp a large region might only get 100 impressions or less.
