Exceptionally informative, practical and beautifully presented
The book is so much more than a guide. It is beautifully presented, precise, concise but not dry or a directory equivalent . The narrative is descriptive, transporting you to locations before you even consider running the trail. The book design is well thought out enabling you to pocket a copy of the section on your chosen adventure, whilst being a coffee table display. The author's attention to detail is second to none.I would liken the author's work to a comprehensive software package with free service and frequent updates on social media.I am able to relate and reference my own ability through the author's well documented outings and adventures. Full marks for the user perspective which addresses a spectrum of needs. The author demonstrates, by doing, there are no boundaries to explore and enjoy the stunning country either by yourself or accompanied by friends, family or children. Whatever the user's current limitations might be, the author has thoughtful suggestions and directions as to what might work for you.He addresses the "Why" before the question even arises. The aspects of terrain, efficiency, complexity are covered. The author draws from the extensive personal experience and personal development of the tools to make experience "fast" and enjoyable for all.

Lace up and get out there!
I'll start with what I dislike..... !Ok so moving on to what I like: Firstly I like Marks writing style it's really comfortable, He has a great knack for giving you a bit of info about location the history of the area and how difficult things are going to be, he grades the runs including navigation skill needed and distance, It's actually a nice reference book to just inspire you to do new runs, but more so it's getting me out and re igniting what had in essence become a chore. Thanks go to Mark for helping me find the love again. I'm already looking forward to his hard work translating to more volumes of this book.

Nicrly described runs easy to follow.
I’m so happy with this book and intend to work my way through all the runs. Mark sets out easy to follow routes and his runners point of view is fabulous. It really makes all the difference. I highly recommend and a few of my running friends now own this book too.

Great book
Bought for my husband as a present as he's heavily into trail running. We live in the South West and it has a good selection of routes with lovely imagery throughout - he's really pleased with it.
