The shell seems robust and the battery cover doesn’t rattle like it dies on the two other cases I ordered. The color and material closely resemble that of the original (purple).Fit also appears good, properly accounting for the width of the PCB (update: I had to slightly shave the top two screw posts on the cover plate).The shell was packaged in a cardboard box, not just a ziplock, and the parts (buttons, membranes, screws, were grouped in individual zip-lock bags.This kit included 10 screws, unlike others that include about 6, seemingly assuming one plans to use original screws and only needs a spare or two.The screen cover had an accurate font/graphic, unlike those in early images which show a pixelated misprint.Finally, the two screwdrivers were larger and sturdier than ones provided in other kits.My only nit is that the metal in the cartridge slot appeared unprotected and slightly tarnished on the edges, unlike the other cases I ordered. Those had a thin film of cellophane protecting the metal.If your goal is stick with a stock look, this seems a solid choice.

As others have mentioned the color is not exact, but is very close. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars is because it was a tight around the volume wheel but not bad enough to make a fuss out of, the 4 longer screws needed for the shell were not included so I had to use them off the old case, and the shipping took forever. When ordering this just know it is coming from China. So it will take quite a bit of time. I believe it was about 6 weeks for me to get mine. Install took all of 5-8 minutes and was a breeze. Remove the 6 screws from the case, 3 from the “guts” or board, disconnect the ribbon from the screen then the “guts” are out. Twist the case a little to pop the old glue from the screen and it comes out. Put your new buttons in place, your screen (no need to reglue), put the board on top and put your screws in and attach the screen ribbon, add your switch and IR cover, then put the back on and put the screws in and you’re done.

Kind of disappointing.. fitment is not that great, screws suck, the B bottom wouldn’t sit right it would keep getting stuck and I had to pull it apart after assembling, metal piece where the cartridge goes had some kind of rust stain that wouldn’t come off so I had to swap it from my old shell, IR blaster wouldn’t fit right I used my old one. I pretty much used all my bottoms from my old shell. But it looks better than what it did I just wish it had the labels for the back. Oh and it did not come with the adhesive for the screen I had to reuse my old one.

Isn't a 1 to 1 reproduction, but is still very nicely made. There's a bit of plastic missing inside the battery compartment to access the potentiometer for screen contrast, which is actually useful. Buttons are firm and feel like GBC buttons. Fits together pretty well once you get the parts in place.Problems were; can see inner supports on the outside due to how it's made. Slightly sharp on the bottom edge of the volume and power recesses(just have to scratch it off). Small dimples on the top 2 corners of the screen.Overall a very good and comfortable replacement for personal use, but not for proper refurbishing.

The overall shell is great and looks just like the original. The back sticker that came with it was a bit too small and the buttons were slightly darker than the originals, but that shouldn't be a problem for most people. My biggest complaint would have to be the screen lens. Mine came printed perfectly and didn't have a scratch on it when I took it from the package, but I'm not joking when I say it scratches even easier than the original lens.If you gently use your fingernail to remove a speck of dust it leaves marks. Even gently using a tissue or microfiber cloth to wipe will cause damage. I bought their replacement lens for the old DMG Game Boy and I didn't have this problem. Other than that, everything else is great.

I ordered this replacement case because I finally took my old GBC out of storage, and remembered how when I was a child, I had scratched the face plate with a paper clip for some unknown reason.After having applied the new case to my gameboy, I discovered that the new face plate (to be clear, this is the black border over the screen that says "Gameboy Color") was just almost as scratched and pock marked as my original. Disapointing, but the rest of the bundle is great. the "Purple Ice" case fits just fine, although I had to fiddle around with what combination of the old and new screws worked best to hold it all together (the screws that come with the bundle are phillips-head and slightly shorter than the stock tri-wing screws that hold the GBC together).Would definitely still recommend if you're just looking to refurbish your GBC, but I'll probably look for another faceplate elsewhere.

Screws it came with were not the right length so I had to use the original screws. Battery door was misshapen/bent on a corner and wouldn't close correctly, and the IR port plastic was just a blob that wouldn't let the system close (once again, had to use the one from the original system).The actual shell itself is good, and feels as sturdy as the original but only time will tell. Overall a decent product marred by QA issues.

The shell does not fit at all and the screen came scratched. I stripped most of the screws trying to put this thing together because it does not fit in sync with the mother bored. You pretty much have to force screw and strip the shell back together. I was planning on ordering another. But because of the hour it took me to force put it back together I won't. It took me less than five minutes to get the motherboard out of the original shell and took me an hour to get it into this new shell. Think about that.

Everything fitted and works fine, the only thing that I would include and would have warranted a 5 star review is including a small plastic thin flathead screwdriver type implement to wedge off the screen from my old device and the front glass panel.

Esta bastante bien, la calidad del material es buena y en general cumple con lo que promete, pero tiene algunas contras, por ejemplo la esquina superior derecha no cierra bien, los tornillos con los que viene algunos son muy cortos y no alcanzan a cerrar bien y presurizar bien la carcasa, el botón B esta algo mas grande que la entrada y se atora (nada que no resuelva un raspado en las orillas), pero dejando de lado todo eso, este producto asegura que tu Gameboy Color se vea genial.

Le compré a un amigo su Game Boy Color, era de color verde y tenía una picada en el centro de la pantalla de un golpe o algo, después de probar varias carcasas me quedé con esta.Las piezas encajan a la primera sin tener que forzar nada, viene con los destornilladores y tornillos necesarios.El plástico de la pantalla viene un poco arañado, pero nada que se note mucho al jugar y el plástico de los infrarrojos es opaco, así que usé el original.Por lo demás, he pasado de tener una Game Boy Color verde pistacho a una amarilla Pikachu.

Si quieres mejorar el aspecto de tu Gameboy. Funciona muy bien. La parte de que no todo embona hasta que específicamente está todo completamente apretado por lo tornillos, es cierto. Algunas piezas cuestan un poco de embona y, sobre todo, la mica que viene para la pantalls es de baja calidad. Pero en términos generales cumple su objetivo. Yo compuse y regalé mi Gameboy, y a quien se lo di, quedo bastante satisfecho.

I recently bought this product hoping to recieve a high quality casing. I ended up recieving two hunks of plastic that don't fit each other correctly.I bought this product, and when I installed it, I noticed a slight gap running around the top and sides, not so much the bottom, I tried tightening the screws and it became better, but now the power switch was so squeezed in it looked like it was about to pop out and hit me in the eye.I thought it was just the way I placed certain things, so I tried countless times removing everything, putting them back in as precisely as possible only to come to the conclusion that it could be the stock buttons, switches, etc.I tried taking everything apart but reassembling it using the new buttons, switches and other things this product came with.I sadly ended up running into the same problem, with the gap.In other words, your product is very low quality and did not fit my Game Boy Color.
