Nice strings
Slick and easy on the fingers, with a mellow tone.

Great strings
Wanted to change to flatwound on my electric. Great tone. Love the wound G string. I mainly play rhythm so not worried about bending. The brightness is muted with the flatwounds as by design. Again love the flatwounds tone.

Super smooth feel with little sliding noise, can be made lighter with a special trick
I am a beginning electric guitar player and I learned that on a bass guitar, that flat wound strings are super comfortable on the fingers, especially for slides. This particular set is still a little too heavy for my fingers and when I installed all of these strings as they come, the tremolo system required extra springs and the tension rod had to be tightened in the neck. I did not like the way it played with the extra tension that made the strings hard to bend and hurt my fingers. My special trick and best solution to turn these into wonderful, easy bending, light playing strings is to not use the #48 heaviest E string. Buy a separate .008 or 0.009 gauge string to use for the first E string and then shift all of the others over. See my marked up package in my photo. This trick gives you a wonderful 8-38 or 9-38 smooth set with the following:1-E 8 or 9 (purchased separately)2-B 103-G 144-D 20w5-A 28w6-E 38w48w - not used

Good strings.
Not much to say about these. Marginally above-average strings that will certainly make noise when plucked.

Like them on my 335
I love these on my 335. I think the tone is richer and a bit warmer, i get 10’s so i can still bend them. I have also put them on a strat with Texas Special pickups and they sound great. You can set them up with super low smooth action.

Pretty Good
I thought I liked higher guage strings until I tried these. The flatwound 13s sound great, but the tension is really tight, even with the action lowered and neck adjusted. They made for a slightly cramped hand after playing for a little while. They feel like your average flats and sound good, so if you don't mind tight tension, I'd recommend them. If you want to save your hands from arthritis in the future or already have it, I don't recommend them.

Sound pretty, pretty good! (in the perfect imitation of Larry David's voice).
I bought 3 sets at a good price. Will always need a good set of flat wounds! And these work just fine!

Like Playing on Glass
These strings are great!I got them for my Epiphone Masterbilt Olympia, a hollowbody jazzbox with a pickup in the bridge.Honestly, I'm not sure if I was supposed to use acoustic or electric strings on it, so if these are the wrong strings for this guitar then...oops. However, I can say that they're actually probably the nicest strings I've ever played. Before these, I'd only ever played with the typical roundwound strings so I really can't speak for the quality of other brands, but I can tell you that if the others are as nice as these then I'm definitely a believer in flatwounds. If you're considering buying these after only playing with normal guitar strings you should know that the main difference is that there's no texture on the strings like you're used to. I've heard this is to prevent that sort of scratch sound when you're changing chords or just playing in general, but it really changes the entire feel of the string itself. It's a lot like playing on nylons in a weird way, I'd kinda describe it as playing strings made of glass. They're slick, but they feel great. They sound great too, there's this kind of youthful pluckiness in my sound when I'm either strumming chords or playing leads. The lows are warm and full as well. Some of this is likely coming from the guitar itself (Which is a great instrument in its own right) but there was definitely a change in sound which I switched strings.I don't know if I'd restring every guitar I own with these, but I know I'll always keep at least one this way.

They're flat-wound strings...you like 'em or you don't.
If you like 'em, that doesn't mean all flat-wound strings are created equal ─ especially when it comes to the cost. I've used a couple of sets of highly respected flat-wound guitar strings. If they sounded better, and lasted longer than the comparable D'Addarios I customarily use, I couldn't hear it or notice it. The D'Addarios have been my go-to flat-wound strings for years. Always sound great, and last half-way to forever...as much as two and a half years, playing or practicing almost every day.I first switched to flat-wound strings because I don't like the string 'noise' of round-wound strings. Then, when I did a side-by-side comparison, I realized I like the sound better too. This is purely a matter of taste. I would tell anyone to try a set of flat-wound strings, if you're looking for a quick, easy. and inexpensive way to change your sound. You'll like 'em or you won't.I've noticed, recently, that Ernie Ball makes flat-wounds too; Keep thinking I should try at least one set. Then I look at all the famous players who use D'Addario strings and think "Why bother." They sound great, last a long time, and they're priced right.

XL Chromes 12-52 on Acoustic
Tried these as an experiment on a quality acoustic after reading some other reviews. An interesting result as they work fine, with a tone somewhere between phosphor bronze and 80/20.As another review stated, the treble is initially very bright/piercing but settles down after a couple of days and then remains consistent and well balanced.Overall a good set for acoustic guitar and completely eliminates string finger noise. However, these won't replace my usual go to strings. I suspect these will be love or hate strings on an acoustic for most people.
