It's wire all right
It is hard to review a roll of wire, and when I tried to examine it closely I found the spool cyclic if anything. The red enamel on the wire reminded me of the peonies blooming in my childhood, and I wanted to know this wire more. I learned Chinese so we could converse - I found out the name of the coil was Henry. Oh the times we had wrapping.

Didn't work for me
Bought this to hand wire a keyboard. The enamel didn't melt off consistently at 650~750F. I ended up having to completely redo my wiring, which cost me a chunk of change in switches and a few hours of time.
