after 5 years this has started to leak between inlet and outlet. is it repairable or just throw away

No, you don't need to throw it away unless it is badly corroded and the thread part is cracked or you are so rich and want to throw money away. Any female-gender garden hose-type connector has a o-ring gasket in it, and you need to replace it once every few years or when it leaks. Most hardware stores carry the replacement gaskets and they are pretty cheap, several pieces a dollar and it is very easy to replace it.

I live in an apartment and the pressure is often low when they're watering the lawns. What is minimum input pressure for 40 lb regulated output?

Regulating your water won't help. You'd have to take that up with management about the sprinklers. The issue may be that they're using 1" or larger pvc pipe for the sprinklers which means there's a pressure drop because there's not enough water flow to support it. they could contact the water company to adjust the pressure regulator for the main water line which should support the demand for the sprinklers.

Work great if you dont need to know water pressure.

Work great. This is a replacement as the original got a calcium buildup from the campground water after about 7 years. Never had a problem just replaced to be sure. Have seen the more expensive ones that are adjustable and have a pressure gauge but as this one limits the pressure to about 40-50 PSI and my system can handle 60PSI, I'm good.

Works as expected, camco is a great brand! It’s easy to install I just leave it on my water hose. It doesn’t leak and isn’t to bulky when connecting hose. The first one I had did freeze and start to leak but it is brass so as long as it doesn’t freeze it should hold up just fine.

Great no adjustable water pressure reducer.

I know that his reducer saved our plumbing while at an RV park the other week. I first tested the water (not hooked to the trailer) and the pressure was incredibly high. Then installed this on the spigot and it was lowered considerably.We used it for 3 days and had no leaks. We also noticed that the flow was perfect for our needs.
