Purple Velvet Miniature Crape Myrtle, 1 Plant, Darkest Purple Flower Available, Matures 4'-5' (6"-1' Tall When Shipped, Well Rooted with Pots in Soil)

The media could not be loaded.  I ordered this crêpe myrtle because the blooms are purple in memory of my son that died this past June from Fentanyl Poisoning. Purple is the color for awareness and it was one of Ricky’s favorite colors. He is so missed and our lives were shattered that day. Not only did I get one tree I was graciously given two trees that I will plant together in hopes that one day it will grow as beautifully as my son grew into a 30 year old man that was taken so needlessly. Fentanyl is killing our children. These trees will not only represent the life and loss of my son but all the mother’s who have lost their children. Thank you for your beautiful trees that arrived looking so green and healthy! I can’t wait to plant and watch them grow!

The plant came packaged well and looked healthy. One of my favorite parts was very detailed instructions on how to plant and take care of the plant. Although I consider myself a pretty good gardener, I would have done things incorrectly had I not followed the directions. I am writing this several months after receiving and I am thrilled that my little plant is blooming beautifully its first year. I would definitely order from this company again. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the flower color is more fusia than the darkest purple that the picture shows.Update: I changed to 5 stars because the seller responded immediately and explained some things about the color of the plant. I can adjust the ph of the soil, making it more acidic. Also, young plants sometimes bloom slightly differently. I do have a couple of blooms that do look purple, so all is well. I have a healthy, beautiful plant. Remember to read and follow directions and I think you'll be as happy as me.

When I received this crepe Myrtle last year, they were like twigs. They were not in gallon pots & I was upset as they died. The company sent me two more but they came the same way. These two did not survive the winter. They were expensive and I’m really upset!

I’m pleased with how the plant was shipped and the size. I was looking forward to seeing the dark purple flowers. I was very disappointed in the color when it bloomed. The description given said “unusually black violet flowers”. You also refer to it as the darkest purple. Well it is not even purple. As you can see in the photo I uploaded, it’s actually fuchsia.

I was excited when my order arrived and I immediately planted it along with the little gift that was included. They were both in verry good condition and healthy. I know they'll turn out to be beautiful especially when they start to bloom. I plan to order 5 more of this purple crape myrtle once my new home is finished so I can plant them in the front yard to make my neighbors jealous. Lol.The plants arrived healthy and ready to plant. What made me smile more is the gift that was included. I can't wait for the gift to grow so I may find out what color the flowers will be. I'm confident that these crape myrtles will grow to be beautiful.

Update 8-2023: both Crape Myrtles are doing fantastic and have survived two very cold winters in my garage. They snap out of dormancy late in the spring and around mid summer I get beautiful purple flowers on both. One I'd truly a miniature, growing slowly like a bonzai tree, really cool - not sure if they are made to be miniature or if mine is just a dwarf but I love it. Great value and I will buy from you again.Product arrived ahead of schedule in a carefully packed box containing two plants (one I ordered, and a free mystery miniature I was not expecting!). Both plants were in excellent shape - the Crape Myrtle is beautiful and snapped right back into a picture of health after planting it in a nice pot. Since I will be growing it up here in the great white north, I will be keeping it in a pot so that I can move it into a safe temperature indoors for the winters. For now it is adorable, and I cannot wait to see the purple flowers (maybe next year?).

I received a velvet purple and a “surprise” with my order back in the Fall….unfortunately I had to go to out of state for work for a few months and my plant caregiver didn’t realized there was a small twig in the ground and didn’t watered it so it died :(….now my “surprise” turned out to be stunning! So stunning I ended up and bit the bullet and ordered 3 velvet purples now (wish they had a package deal as they’re a bit pricy which it’s why I gave them 4 Stars) looking forward to growing them soon!

I received 2 plants. I don’t know if they are the same color. I planted them together in one hole. I acidified the dirt as was suggested by one of your reviewers. This is supposed to make the flowers have that beautiful deep purple color. It is beginning to grow. We have had quite a bit of rain in the pastfew weeks. I can hardly wait to see the flowers as this bush grows out. It is thriving very well.
