Microbe-Lift Barley Straw Concentrated Extract

Excellent product for keeping algae growth minimal in plant watering reservoirs and birdbaths. I used to use barley straw extract (a different brand) in my birdbath... worked great.I now use it to keep algae and slime down in my 1 liter bottle plant reservoirs, that I use with Blumat watering spikes. In addition to the barley straw extract (2 droppers-full per bottle, for each initial filling and topping off), I have the bottles insulated from light and fluctuating outdoor temperatures with neoprene sleeves. Works great! Plants are happy too...

I ordered this to control algae in the outdoor auto water dispenser for my cats. It has been two weeks, and the water is still clear—no algae. Something to note, this is not a large bottle. It works great for what I need. But if you are treating a large area, this may not be enough.

This is advertised to reduce algae in ponds. It does not. It was brought to my attention that I should use the actual barley hay, which is on its way. This did NOT work in the least. Save your hard earned money and get the barley hay bundle. Look it up. Much cheaper and only once every 6 months.

I've used this product before and I guess it does its job though I really can't swear there is a difference.May complaint is that the image of this product does not look at all like what I received. It is misleading and makes it look like the size of an 8oz. bottle is much bigger. I would not purchase from this supplier again. I prefer truth in advertising. It was sold by Monster Pets.

I LOVE this product. It can be ordered plain or with peat, which I recommend, because it helps filter our sunlight in the water which leads to algae formation. I have several outdoor tubs that contain fish, shrimp, snails and plants. It is completely safe for all life and, in hydroponics setups as long as you're not using other non-human safe chemicals.I re-order this product almost monthly, but prefer the bottle that has the measurer. This product and lots of floating plants help keep the water very clean.

This stuff is amazing!!! I use this along with the Microbe Lift PL beneficial bacteria for my pond. Other pond owners are always amazed by the clarity of my pond’s water. I’ve tried the barely balls in the past but this works quicker and is by far more effective. Will not harm plants or animals that may drink from the pond. Great price on amazon.

I treated my small waterfall garden pond with this product. It cleared it up in two days then I followed up with an additional dose in a week water is staying clear and plants seem to be happy too

I purchased this to rid some small water container gardens of algae. While the algae didn't grow as fast, the product didn't get rid of the algae. I abided by all package directions, even added a little more that was suggested after awhile.
