Awesome movie
I really like the film style. They made it look like the whole thing was filmed on camcorders and the stories were laid out to appear like typical video-diaries, bringing suspense for when the "horror movie" will come into play. You really have no idea what the story will bring when going in blindly with no spoilers. I've never seen a horror movie quite like this one and I'll watch the others next. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes action and suspense movies. Also, the makeup and gore looks really well done. They did a really good job on this. I'd expect as much from the director who also worked on the newer Scream movies.

Gritty and intriguing
Imaginative, intelligent, and just the right level of serious horror.

Not for everyone but I loved it
Surprisingly good but...ok,first things first. This film is an anthology film meaning it is broken up of individual stories in one film. That is slightly important to know going into this or you are going to be confused thinking its one film with one plot from beginning to end. The way the movie is filmed already makes it confusing enough since it is shot Blair Witch style and with broken segments of VHS type quality directing. I am not a fan of this amateur POV (point of view) style directing but whatever. I was on the verge of giving this movie 5 stars based on the second short( "Amateur Night") within the movie alone. It is one of the creepiest things I've viewed. However, along the way came other shorts which weren't bad but seemed incomplete and unsatisfying. After watching the movie I looked up the film on Wikipedia and it explained some of what I missed or didn't catch on to and then it made sense. This is definitely a film that needs your uninterrupted attention because (once again)the way it is shot is confusing. For a low budget film it is great and is one of the better horror films I've seen in awhile. I can see why some are not going to like this movie because of the way it is shot and edited but that's what makes it different. As I mentioned earlier, I am also not a fan of the Blair Witch style directing (or the Blair Witch movie for that matter). Unless you are very eagle eyed and sharp I doubt you are going to completely understand each of these shorts during your first time viewing it which is a turn off for a lot of people. But watched late at night and not expecting much from it, it mostly satisfied me with its creepy content and depravity.

V/H/S
In 2012, who knew that the found footage horror hit "V/H/S" would become a long-running, and highly successful franchise! I'm not here to write a specific film review on this, I'm just here to say that I ordered the DVD copy of this film to add to my horror collection and I'm beyond happy to finally have this little gem in my collection!! Sophisticated, creative, believable, and good scary, bloody fun! I can't wait to start collecting the sequels on DVD as well. This is a great product for any collector/horror fan! Get it now before they no longer make prints of this film!

Without any fear of contradiction, this film was horrifying.
This movie was horrifying because I had never seen anything quite like it. For people who love good horror flicks this movie will not disappoint. I live alone and I happen to catch it one late night on television, and suffice it to say I was very scared. The situations in the film while ultra horrible, did not defy the possibility of being able to happen. This enhanced the movie's frightfulness. I don't buy many movies, but when I do, it is a movie that I know I can enjoy multiple times. So I knew this movie would be one of those. Not recommended for the squeamish or faint of heart. For true Horror Film lovers only... You have been warned...

Watch it for the first two stories
This is a horror anthology, with one excellent segment and story in the first part of the movie, called Amateur Night. But first, an introduction story is about some thugs breaking into an abandoned house to steal some videotapes, this is just the setup (and a rather mediocre one) for the film. Then, the best story, called Amateur Night, is about some young men who go to a nightclub looking to hook up with some women, and then they meet a strange girl at the club, who is much more than they bargained for. Very good mini-horror story/episode, with good acting and suspense. The next story, called "Second Honeymoon" is also pretty interesting, about a young married couple taking a road trip, and they end up staying in a cheap, weird motel. The ending of this one is pretty unexpected - I'm a horror fan and have seen a ton of horror movies in my time (am middle-aged) and I won't spoil it, but it was a good twist that I didn't see coming. To sum up, these two stories are worth watching for the horror fan. However, you can safely turn off the movie after that though, because the rest of the stories, unfortunately, pretty much suck.

No.
I can't even think of how to leave a review for this, so should I? No. But I'm going to anyway, only because I would like to leave a single star on this terribly misleading "horror" movie. It's horrible, sure. But not worth the 10$ my sister insisted on renting this terrible movie for.It is very rare I don't finish a movie, even if I dislike it. I got about halfway or more through this, and I was so bored and just weirded out I couldn't watch this anymore. While leaving a review usually means that you have seen the entire film, I don't think I need to see the entire film to know the rest would have been just as boring as the first half.Maybe I could have waited until I saw what happened to the men "stealing" the films in the first place, (or should I say watching them), in the room with a dead man in a chair? But, simply stated, I found this movie to be HORRIBLE.Maybe someone more into the documentary type horror films could shed some light on this. I, however, cannot.I can end this by saying I am hardly ever this negative, I am a movie fanatic. But this was frikking awful.
