Good Basic Exercise Info
The book is Bob Hoffman's guide on exercising with dumbbells; it originally accompanied the York Barbell weight set, along with companion volumes on "simplified" barbell and swingbell training. It it a useful guide on how to perform many of the basic exercises with dumbbells, and includes several basic routines. It was last revised in the late fifties or early sixties. As such, it contains nothing new or revolutionary in terms of exercise information, just good, solid instruction on basic techniques. Good information for beginners, or if one wants to get back to basics.

Simplified too much
The book is written on a few pages with a brief description of each exercise. The problem is that there is not one illustration given for any of the exercises. The author clearly tells you pay attention to the illustrations but in the interest of profit the publisher from my estimation left them out!

Don't bother...
May have been a hit 50 years ago but nothing in here to help you build a decent dumbbell program.

Great value and very useful
Very good and still relevant published in 1942

Looks like someone typed it on an exercise jotter then lost interest
Needs proper exercise illustrations and explanations in order for modern readers with little time for lengthy perrusals to use it.
