My water panel has a spray paint mark on one of the edges. Does this mark indicate the top or bottom of the panel?

is it not supposed to be just plane wire mesh? what is the white crust on them that looks the same as my last year salt deposited one?

mine does not have the same look as those I threw out..a tiny bit of a white sheen but not at all a crust..I can easily see thru the mesh.

I just installed this water panel in December and it's already clogged. Can I rinse/clean it out and reinstall?

I'm not sure about that, but the guy that installed our Aprilaire said if you have to replace the water panel more than once a season that you should look into a water softener (or if you have one already, run the softened water to the unit). I hope that helps!
