It’s one of the best series I’ve ever read! I love Zoey (MFC) and her BFF Stevie. The story is one that you can jump right into and the beginning isn’t drawn out. P.C. Cast builds some of the most incredible worlds that you can imagine. There’s pithy dialogue, spiritual lore, suspense and about 🌶️🌶️/5 for the spice. The characters are each so unique with their own special personalities and I love them all! Even the villains! Although a really lengthy series (including novellas), it wasn’t one I had any issues committing to. Review: Marked Wonderfully - Marked by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast is a refreshing breath of fresh air. I absolutely loved every minute reading this book. If there had been books like this when I was a teen I would have gone bonkers and never come out of my room. Zoey Redbird is your stereo typical teen in almost every way. That is until the day she gets marked by the Tracker. A high school student with a football player for a boyfriend, plenty of friends and a car of her own, who could ask for more. Once Zoey gets marked she runs home hoping to be comforted by her mother only to find herself being closed up in her room. Mom and step-dad consider Zoey to be evil incarnate now and call on their religion to help out but Zoey wants nothing to do with this so escapes from her bedroom to run to her Grandma Redbird. Best thing she could have ever done. The story takes us from the realm of daytime and humans to the realm of nighttime and vampires. They actually have a school to help train vamps to become vamps and everything is so different that it takes some time to become adjusted. Who would've thought!! I love the take on the story and it's uniqueness of vampires origin's. It's not your usual "I'm Going to Suck Your Blood" type of story. Humans become vampires through a totally new and quite literally a "Zap You're It" way. Only one sex scene that I ran across makes this even more appealing. I give the authors major credit where credit is due bringing us such an inventive, enjoyable and page turning work of art that will be enjoyed by many, many more avid night loving readers. Five stars in my book for a delicious delight.

A wonderful book!
Marked is the first book in the House of Night series, and it serves as a solid foundation that sets the stage for an incredible journey. While it’s primarily focused on character development and world-building, it’s clear that the story has so much potential, and by the end of the book, you’ll be eager to see where it goes next. The first part of Marked is very much about introducing the world of vampires, the intricacies of the House of Night school, and the main characters. It’s a bit slower in pacing, but this character and world-building is essential for the series as a whole. As the protagonist, Zoey Redbird, navigates her transformation into a fledgling vampire, we get a deep dive into her personal struggles, relationships, and the complexities of a supernatural world. This early development gives you a strong sense of the characters’ motivations, and by the end, you’ll feel more connected to them. Though the book starts off with a focus on building its foundation, it does include a few surprising twists that will keep you on your toes. These twists are not only intriguing but also serve to deepen the mystery and stakes surrounding Zoey’s journey. As the story progresses, things pick up in intensity and excitement. The latter half of the book brings more action, tension, and surprises that leave you wanting more. By the end of Marked, you’ll find yourself invested in the characters and the world, with the promise of greater twists and developments in the books that follow. Overall, Marked is a great beginning to the House of Night series. It may take its time in building the world and setting up key character arcs, but it’s well worth the read. The story definitely gets better as it goes, and by the end, you’ll be hooked and ready to dive into the next book.
