Flashpoint has been releasing wonderful products that are both less expensive and provide equal if not better results than the competition. The Flashpoint Xplor 400pro is more versatile than previous flashpoint lights as you can use modifiers from popular brands like Profoto. I prefer using all my bowens mount modifiers with this light. The 400 pro is very light which makes it easier to carry on location. I was surprised on how small this light is. I highly recommend the Flashpoint Xplor 400 for both studio and location.

Bought this in Mar '25 and it is now Jul '25 and noticed the battery will not take a charge. During 1st unboxing, allowed the batt to fully charge before 1st use. No problems there. I noticed that even when the battery is sitting dormant in its case and not in use, it depletes rather quickly. I had to fully charge it during a 2nd projects about 3 weeks later. Fast fwd to now (July), i wanted to use it again and the battery has been completely discharged. I attempted to charge it over night even, and not even one bar on the charger. All my other flashpoint products have excellent battery life even after not being used for months at a time. What is goin on? Did Adorama sell me a lemon?

First off the light by itself is great. My review is to highlight the Ad400 when using with the S2 bracket. I’ve found that the mounting area for Ad400 is quite small and some slippage occurs when using it in this set up. Secondly the S2 mount causes the bare bulb to sit about halfway back in the bracket negating the power gain from using this AD 400 over the Ad200. Other areas to mention are that the flash does not remember settings when powering off and on. One example is turning off the beep and whenever I turn the light back on the beep tone comes back. I would recommend this flash to someone who is comfortable using the included Bowen’s mount but for those looking to use the new S2 style bracket, there sill needs to be some improvement. I’ve requested a return and will instead by a third AD 200 and the b2 dual head when I require the additional power.

I have two AD600pros and the 400 pros provide the edge lighting foe my sports volume photography. They are light and compact and plane in take if one to Florida for a senior shoot this week. Really happy with the lights this far. Will update upon return.

I am very disappointed with this purchase since the Flashpoint XPLOR 400 PRO came with a bad/defective battery, so I paid over $500.00 and I can't even use this flash. Update; be aware that adorama does this on purpose, sells defective products as new then they will play you for weeks with the return, worse customer service and ghost you with a refund.

I love this unit. Its very powerful and can overpower the sun. It has a powerful modeling light. It seems to be very well made. Be sure to use it with a sturdy C stand with sandbags.
