Red Heart Super Saver Yarn 312 Black

Love this yarn. My daughter uses it to crochet hats for cancer patients. It is very soft and easy to work with. It is very consistent and a good value for the money. The colors are vivid and look lovely, rich and vibrant as a hat.

This was good yarn for my grandson’s blanket. It softened as I was crocheting but still made a stable blanket and didn’t tangle easily or split. It was easy to work with and the skein was large. The red was bold but not neon.

This yarn is priced nicely and has beautiful vibrant colors that change from one to the other. It’s great for creating retro granny squares because the colors are perfectfor this project. The downside is, yarn is somewhat corse and could be softer

What can go wrong with Red Heart yarn? When I bought this it was running around $3.00 which is a steal for this quality of yarn. I find that wether I am knitting or crocheting the yarn does not pull apart, there might be one spot where the yarn ran out and another ball is tied on, and super nice to work with. It is not very soft so I would not be making baby items or sweaters with it but adult blankets, dog blankets, art yarn, and other craft items would be fine. I have not washed this yarn but it does spot clean well. I would also write that this yarn is somewhat versatile. I make Christmas trees with my yarn and I listed earlier what other items could be made. I think this yarn has a home spun look to it. This is not bad but I do not see making a nice top or even a skirt. I could see some nice dolls made from this yarn.

Super soft and such a pretty color! Nice quality and doesn’t tangle. Easy to knit. Washes well by hand or gentle cycle in mesh bag.

Love this yarn for its bright, cheerful colors and easy workability. Crocheted a fringed scarf for my nephew using a moss stitch pattern, came out really nice. Only reason I am giving four stars is that some of the different colors seem to have different textures/softness. The pink and yellow, for example, seem a bit thinner and pull a bit more taught, so keep an eye out for this. Additionally some of the colors are attached to each other with tiny knots rather than the dye shifting (notable in the blue-to-yellow transition and orange-to-pink occasionally), so make sure you tuck these little knots into your stitches so they don't show, especially if you are making something for a kid that likes to pick at loose ends/threads like my nephew does. All-in-all I'm happy with this yarn, the skeins are a decent size, one scarf took me about a skein and a half, plus some extra I cut for the fringe.

This is my favorite yarn. The colors are usually consistent. And a perfect price for fun projects.

I'm an American and I live in Europe and the yarn just isn't the same. Red heart and others like it are not available here on the shelf. It's just different/better to me from what's available here.
