Nice!
After two knee surgeries a wading staff has become a necessity. Tried a couple of cheap ones. Should have just ponied up for a quality item and been done. FishPond is a quality company and I have rarely been disappointed with anything I have purchased from them. This wading staff is no exception. Very stable, fairly easy to deploy, light weight and the cordura sheath seems like it will hold up to many seasons of use. The fact that it looks great is a bonus. 74% of catching trout is LOOKING GOOD!!

Good quality
I purchased this product for use as a collapsible hiking stick and so far I am extremely impressed with the quality.The internal cord is stranded metal cable encased in plastic as opposed to bungee material.The lower part of the unit snaps into place stretching out the cable, and then it is adjustable from the upper part of the unit.I didn't want to buy a $20 or $30 collapsible hiking staff and be disappointed so I went ahead and dropped $90 on this one.At this point I'm quite happy that I did.

Perfect
After several falls on in shallow water.... Should have bought one a long time ago. While in the water, I let it hang with the tether until I am ready to move on. I use it constantly in and out of the water.

Good quality from Fishpond
Much better than the bungee corded wading staff I purchased a few years ago. Doesn’t break when stuck in the mud.

Not for swift water
5'9". 172 lbs. Staff is about 5" short and not strong enough for good leverage and support. In water flowing 200 cfs or faster over irregular bottom terrain, this staff was not up to the task (and I'm an agile athlete). Used it twice and decided to trust my life to a more substantial and longer wading staff. The case appears well made, and the finish on the staff is attractive I suppose. Might suffice for a teenager or smaller adult.
