Brian Moore Guitars MBR1 MBRACE Guitar Support System

Took off the dainty strap it came with just used my own regular guitar strap. Fed both ends through like they show enough where the connection was secure on the guitar. Have left my 7 string suspended for 3-4 days now no sign of cracking or breaking. I'm sure the strap it came with would have eventually ripped...may contact their customer service and see what's up with that. As far as playability, only the bottom rubber contact points touches the guitar because my strap won't tighten anymore, but I just raise the stand and it works awesomely. Can play and not worry about your playing the stand moves with my playing so I don't feel restricted. Would've gave 5 stars if it came with a proper strap

As a veteran guitar player, I grew tired of unplugging, replugging and throwing guitars on and off my shoulders in between songs during gigs; it takes too much time and I'm sure audiences really don't love watching it - watching Pat Metheny play his guitar synthesizer on a stand inspired me to look for something similar. I found the Mbrace Guitar Support System and, having since put it into action, I find it to be absolutely wonderful! The competing "Gracie Stand" is horribly overpriced and inconvenient to even locate and the Mbrace does the required job well. I find the fastening and adjustment technology that makes up the Mbrace to be pretty satisfactory; every guitar will sit differently on it though - for example: my Schecter 12-string acoustic has an Ovation-style back and sits much more awkwardly than my other, more conventionally shaped guitars; still, the Mbrace holds it up quite well. The only recommendation I have for those considering buying the Mbrace is to do your research well and spend maybe a little bit extra on a sturdy mic stand. That's right, the Mbrace screws on top of a mic stand but does not include said stand. I bought a nice, but economically-priced, round, weighty mic stand that does the job and holds my guitar up but it could definitely use more weight at the bottom. I have since discovered the "Ultimate Support Pro-SB Stackable Base mic stands" which would be a much better, although more expensive, way to ensure my guitar will not tip over on the Mbrace.

It's bunk. Doesn't hold anything at a playable angle. Anything it would be used with needs a pin at the back of the neck. This is not mentioned ANYWHERE... WHAT A JOKE!!!

While this is certainly an adequate guitar holder, and the fact that it screws onto a standard tripod mic stand, the 2 reasons I didn't give it a 5 star rating is 1) I don't rate anything "the best" and 2) while I understand the engineering behind why they didn't, it really should have some sore of platform the instrument can rest on. I think "version 2" should have even a slight ridge with which could support the instrument more. But that's just my humble opinion. :-)

So far so good. I have read other reviews of using drum stands instead of regular mic stands. I think I will go with that. I have been using a boom in order to get a good angle for when I switch between electric and acoustic as I hold my guitar rather high. That would be the only thing about the design I would modify. I do notice it moves around and sags a bit. I have read other reviews that talk about the strap, so I will probably change that out. Having had a gracie stand back in the day, this is really handy. Get yourself one of those quick mount mic adapters to take this on and off the mic stand quickly.

Easy to use and works with all my standard electric guitars, acoustic guitars, and basses! The adjusting of the strap that locks the instrument onto the stand is hard to tighten once on the stand, if you only have one person to do this and hold the instrument. Otherwise, very cool product!
