Inexpensive, sleek, hydroponic grow system to rival Aero garden
I purchased two of the "advanced" setups and one of the standard. The advanced setup is essentially a hydroponic method of growing where a plant is suspended above nutrient water and the roots are dipped in the water. I was sceptical at first due to the size of the reservoir. After about a month my sceprisim faded as I saw how well the plants were growing. I'm growing lettuce, cilantro, and basil. I love these systems! I mounted them to the wall to make an inexpensive and attractive grow wall. The lights work very well and are sufficient for leafy greens. I use the standard reservoir-less light and base for mini tomatoes and basil. Around the systems, I grow flowers and even peas using the ambient light from the systems. You can easily use these without the growing pods they sell, with a little reach on nutrients etc. I plan to buy more and expand my grow wall for an endless supply of greens.

Sleek and affordable.
This product is very light. In fact, I find it too light to be long-lasting. As long as you put it in a corner and don't adjust the height too often, I think it should be sturdy enough in the long run. It doesn't topple over if there are no pots, so that's good. My main concern is the thread of the 2 screws that hold the bar and the light. I feel like constant adjustment would wear it down such that the light would slide down eventually. Other than that, I feel like this light is worth the money. Most indoor LED kit emit a very red/pink glow or are bulky or ugly. This one, however, has a pleasing white light. There is no dimmer and you can't change the light spectrum, but for the price, it is an acceptable trade off. It looks pretty good on my kitchen counter so I can forgive any shortcomings. The light is very bright. If you were to put it around 2 inches above your plant, it will give off around 1000 lux (as measured by my 3-in-1 cheap testing kit). If you were to put it around 8 inches above, it will provide ample light of around 500 lux. I love that the height is adjustable so it grows with the plant.I bought a pack of 3 self-watering pots (search for 5.5" Self Watering Planter Pots by GardenBasix) that fits pretty well on the stand. It has an 11in gap from the top of the pot to the bottom of the light. A lower pot would do better to avoid frying herbs. Alternatively, just select plants that won't grow too tall for a pot this size. Also, if you do go the self-watering route, do not plant succulents as they will die from too much moisture. The lamp has a built-in timer and runs for 16hrs on/8hrs off. There is no way to change the timer settings. It comes with an on and off mechanical switch. Because of this, it is compatible with plug-in timers which is great if you find 16 hours too long.I used an Etekcity Smart Plug for convenience, with great success. You can easily program a schedule on your phone with this device, allowing for consistency and easy adjustments for individual plant needs. According to the smart plug, the light consumes 19w of power when on. It doesn't get hot, which is great for an already-warm kitchen.Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. I have yet to actually put in a plant as I just received the product 2 hours ago. However, I am confident that it will do well with herbs and maybe some medium light plants.

I would buy again.
Great grow light. Easy to use and it works wonderfully. I bought two and I am growing lettuces and herbs in them. I love that they are adjustable and have a timer. Plus, the base is large enough to fit my planters.

Plants are growing (but they also grow by the window)
I wasn't sure if this would work, but I planted several things indoors as the weather got colder outside. I tried dill, chives, catnip, lavender, and lemon balm. The dill and catnip grew quickly and outgrew the stand. I put them by the window and they are still doing fine without this light. The chives are doing ok. The lavender and lemon balm took a few attempts, but I have a couple very tiny plants there now (abut an inch or two tall). I propped them up to be closer to the light. You have to get a little creative if the plants are different heights so you don't burn one while another is too far away. The timer has worked great. I'm happy with it so far. It's been about two months.

extremely easy to assemble
It arrived 4 days earlier than expected...never a bad thing since I tend to be impatient after I have ordered anything. It is a simple design every easy to put together and had a few extra small pieces just in case. It seems to be very sturdy, even heavy. I have no idea how long the LEDs will last, they are the most important question and part. I have it in my kitchen and am going to try it as a seed starter for Morning Glories that I will put in the ground about late Fed or early March depending on how mild our wet season is. If that goes well I will probably try some herbals, it would be a shame not to plant some..... For now all is good and I m happy.

Not enough light
I liked the all in one unit idea when I bought it. But it didn't put out enough light. My seedlings go leggy.

Great for starting seeds!
I love this grow lamp! Started seeds for my spring garden and they are doing quite well. Light can turn on/off manually or automatically on a 16-hour timer. Light is bright but does not get hot. Light height can be adjusted. Easy to put together. Would buy again.

Works well
I bought this so I could have plants in a room that doesn't get sunlight. It's looks nice on the coffee table and the small succulent plants I put in the tray seem to be flourishing under the light. The timer keeps the light on for 16 hours so you will have to manually turn it off if you don't want it on that long. The timer resets for 16 hours each time you turn it back on.
