La Guitarra del Amor
The doorbell rang and to my delight it was the swarthy Amazon delivery man with a guitar shaped box. He pushed the box into my hands gruffly and made me scrawl my sigil with a little plastic dibber on his 1980's touchscreen computer. He left, rather hastily. Perhaps he wouldn't have been quite so hasty if could even have begun to imagine the romantical adventure journey I was about to undertake. Perhaps even he would have pled to come with me, Robin to my Batman or Lacey to my Cagney as I brandished the guitar within the box to the heavens and demanded that the gods let me join their pantheon as the shining Lord of Love; Bandolero Flamenco they would call me and beckon me to play for them in their many pillared temples. But the gods must wait.I unwrapped the guitar in awe that something so powerful could be wrapped so simply. As if it were a trinket, a bauble of which men young and old would buy from Amazon at its ridiculously cheap price and strum once or twice before consigning it to a dark corner of the bedroom. Pulling it out every now and then for a lackluster twang before guiltily hurrying it back to its rest.I pulled it of clear of the wrapping and lo it was a veritable delight to the eye. Mottled chestnut and maple teased the eye and the fingerboard glistened almost wetly like the dew on some freshly sewn Canadian grass. I strummed, just once but the resultant cacophony made me realise this needed some fine tuning before I could begin my romantic journey. I gave it a week of gentle ministration, teasing the strings tighter and tighter till they could do naught but sing in perfect shades of tune.I knew it was time when I picked it up one day and gave it a simple strum/slap. The resultant melodic bark made my cat shed all of its fur in one fell swoop and the long dead cherry tree in the garden spontaneously burst into blossom. I took my guitarra and went to my lady love. She lived four doors down and had rebuffed my advances on a number of occasions. But this time I was ready. She answered the door to my rat a tat tat and stared agog at my peacock feather hat, one of the best I owned.I began to play, a simple arpeggio on those gossamer nylons. She made to speak but I began to dance and play with increasing speed and passion. My percussive strumming pounded the air and I stamped my feet in a staccato counterpoint to my furiously flicking fingers. I whirled and it seemed the world gyrated and danced a jig with me. My vision blurred and at, last I was spent, my fingers ached and I stooped, panting unable to carry on - no longer in thrall to the music. But when I opened my eyes she was gone, the door coldly closed. And it was then I realised that I had loved and lost but I could shed nary a tear for her nor myself. I had the guitar now. There were bound to be others. "Mucho pescado en el mar" my flamenco master had taught me... Oh yes... mucho pescado.

Rocket guitar
It was 30 quid, it is playable which is the main thing but advise putting better strings. Intonation slightly off on mine but not enough to worry and it has a truss rod. Action a slight bit high maybe but the nylon strings compensate. It is relatively comfortable to play fretboard acceptable. Bridge seems to be plastic (roll eyes) but on this level that probably does not make a lot of difference because the sound is ok. You can make out the notes.. Not too heavy. Looks..okay. Front pretty decent. Back and sides have the colour a bit red like the the ducks in chinese restaurant window rather than a wood grain effect but those ducks don't look like ducks anyway, couple of rogue glue blobs. An okay little budget practice guitar which is what I was looking for. It's playable. So far mine needs tuning more often than my other guitars but that is most likely because the strings it came with are old or not too good so need changing. For the money I think it is good.

Rocket (Stagg) C542 Full Size Classical Spanish Guitar Natura
Prompt and efficient delivery by courier with a 1 hour delivery slot, details of which I received by e-mail (and they were dead in the middle of the hour !)Communication throughout from Normans was first class. The guitar is very nice. Not had chance to play it much but I tuned it and it is quickly settling down to correct tuning, obviously the nylon strings will have to stretch a bit before they stabalise and keep to tuning. The guitar is a nice traditional design and is darker than a lot I have seen which I like. The instrument seems well made and has a gloss surface finish. The tone is bright at the high end and rich in the base and gives an all-round pleasant sound. The string height (action) is lowish but not too low so no 'buzzing' problems. Probably ideal for a beginner.I have come back to the guitar after many years and I feel sure this instrument will inspire me to practice !!I'm no guitar expert but my humble opinion is that the overall quality of this guitar is WAY better than the bargain price I paid.Bought a padded bag and a capo from Amazon to complete the outfit,All I need to do now is grow my right hand finger nails then its - Watch out Segovia !!Hope this review helps you make a descision.

Good for a beginner, but needs better strings
I didn't expect much, given the low price, but was pleasantly surprised. It's quite well made and sounds quite nice. The strings provided take an age to settle down (several days of retuning) and you would be better, as I did, to buy a set of good quality and replace them. There are better guitars around, but not at this price. Great for a beginner or someone on a budget.

Well packed - good value for money
I bought this guitar to keep me busy during coronavirus times. After a small hiccup with the DHL delivery, amazon took the responsibility to send me another package. Well packed and delivered within 3 days. The top 3 strings are steel and the 3 bottoms are plastic. Great value for money and for beginners. You will have some great tunes during these misery times. Thanks.
