No not at all, of course you can see it but for me it's not too bright however it's down to personal preference.

How do we know when it fully charged?

Hi - when you plug it in to charge a red light glows at the end of the earpiece. Once it's fully charged the light turns blue. It is a little difficult to see these lights the first time, but if you pick it up when it's charging, you'll see the end glowing red. It charges really quickly even if you've been using it for quite a long time. Hope this helps!
