Well made enough. However, I do not think the wick works like a lighter's wick should. Perhaps, I do not have it prepped properly, but the wick is getting burnt up, as when there is not enough fuel getting to it. Stays warm for hours, but does give off lighter fluid smell. I bought this one, so I could use it until I can find my Zippo lighter. May have gone with the Peacock, otherwise, despite the higher cost.

I purchased two of these, and the main feature I like is the zippo lighter part for firing up this warmer. It makes it great since you have everything you need and don't have to scrounge matches or a lighter. I have used them a few times and they can get really hot if you let them, it just takes a short while. We trail ride motorcycles often in the mountains and these will be great for keeping the chill off at night and while riding in the mornings. I keep them in zip lock type sandwich bags and the lighter fluid doesn't evaporate in storage and they shut down in just a few minutes so you can put them away. Best part, no batteries.

works great. dosent get as hot as my $5. one but is alot cooler and sometimes self igniting... sometimes, thats the only drawback

I bought this for my wife to use when she hunts, and, so far, I've used it more! 6 hours on the ice pulling up sunnies and the warmer was still going strong when it was time to head home. The best part about it is the built in lighter. No need to carry matches or a separate lighter to ignite the warmer. Just pull the top, flick the wheel, and go.

Keep the heat for very long time

I have a few hand warmers including a Jon E that I find it hard to start. I bought one of this for my friend who is a smoker and who love ski. It works really well. You just add lighter fluid and close to top. Fire the lighter like a cigarette lighter and flip it 90 degree to burn the heating element for a few seconds and close the cover. It will start to warm up and last one day at good heat. You have to put it into the bag. It gives out minimal odor. I bought one each for my family when we go fishing and skiing. It is one of the best design and I think it is much better than the disposable one or the boil in hot water hand warmer. They are not even 10% of heat from this one. Only this one would be good for sub-zero temperature. Only one drawback is this type of hand warmers have to start it in room temperature or there is no lighter fluid vapor to start it.

This is a much bigger size hand warmer than the Zippo. It is also better in my opinion. It has a built-in lighter so I don't have carry a box of match. It starts really easy and can get really hot. You have to put it into the pouch. It really help me in bitter cool outdoor activities.
