Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition. Widely recognized today as the talented songwriter behind such hits as Britney's 'Toxic' and Kylie's 'Can't Get You Out of My Head', the late 80s to the early 90s saw Cathy Dennis emerge as an artist in her own right scaling the heights with her brand of infectious dance influenced pop music. The team assembled for the MOVE TO THIS album included Cathy's D-Mob cohort Daniel Poku (Dancin' Danny D), Phil Bodger, Shep Pettibone, Anne Dudley, Juliet Roberts, Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers. This remastered expanded edition includes the sought after remixes and b-sides which were issued around the single releases. The whole of the EVERYBODY MOVE TO THE MIXES album is included as well as some Stateside rarities.

Marvellous dance and pop music, criminally overlooked.
Cathy Dennis' debut, Move to This, is one of those head-scratching anomalies in pop-music history. Ever since the market became albums-driven, four Top 10 singles from one album would usually get the album at least a platinum record. Instead, the singles from Move to This were all over the airwaves in 1990 and 1991, but the record itself barely dented the charts. The album climbed as high as the 50s on Billboard's Albums chart, I think, and a search of the RIAA's database yields no records of gold or platinum awards. To this day, people remember songs like "Touch Me (All Night Long)", "Just Another Dream" and "Too Many Walls", but the album languishes in the out-of-print wasteland. Perhaps it was Dennis' slightly kitschy Louise Brooks haircut, or the cheesy colour scheme of the album cover. It's a shame, because Move to This was just an excellent dance/pop record. D-Mob's "C'mon and Get My Love" (rightly included here), with lead vocals by Dennis, already heralded a dance vocalist of remarkable confidence, and "Just Another Dream" was one of those singles that grabbed your ear with a few notes. And "Too Many Walls" remains a radio staple today, with its spritely beat, memorable melodies, and Dennis' knowingly innocent lead vocal making for a perfect pop ballad. The moody Europop of "Tell Me" and the pulsating club beat of the title track are also highlights. On a musical front, the only drawback is that the uptempo dance songs sound a little similar arrangement-wise, with the heavy club beats and '80s-pop keyboards permeating all the tracks. However, they are certainly no more repetitive than any other club-style dance record, and Dennis' singing is just superlative. So now, almost 15 years after this record was released, I remain baffled as to why it's more a cult hit than the evergreen hits trove it really is.

Great album and expanded content, but "Too Many Walls" is glitched
Amazon Help told me to write this review, so I am:"Too Many Walls" - as sold digitally here and everywhere else - has an audio glitch around 2:43, where there's either a gap in the audio or a "tear" that goes across the whole mix. (If you hear this album's version of it on YouTube, you'll catch it.)I was able to cure this by snipping a fragment of an earlier chorus and replacing the glitched bit, but it was a delicate operation, and I got lucky the choruses lined up.

When Dance Music was Dance Music
I bought this album a few months ago for the song "Just Another Dream"; it brought back memories of when Dance music was actually music and not the processed, remixed trash that it's *generally* become today. I've found that I like most of this album, most notably "All Night Long (Touch Me)" and "Got To Get Your Love". (I feel that "Too Many Walls" didn't really belong on this album; it seemed very out of place on a dance album) Cathy Dennis is a talented singer/songwriter, and I am grateful to her for turning out one of the best dance albums of the 90's. Any fan of Dance music should give this album a try, if only to hear music one can actually dance to.

The CD Version has all the tracks
Just a heads up for anybody looking at the track listing of the mp3 version of the album and noticing that "C'mon and Get My Love" is not on there; that track is indeed present on the CD copy I just received from amazon. I'm guessing they couldn't get the digital rights for that track but the CD still has it.

Cathy Reissue Done RIGHT!!!!!!
I was so happy to come across Cathy's debut solo album reissue release. I still own the original release but this version sounds outstanding. All tracks including the remixes sound pristine with Cathy's crystal clear vocals. Let's hope we also get a vinyl pressing reissue too and the same treatment to her second album "Into the Skyline" and third release "Am I The Kinda Girl?" I stressed we WANT A VINYL Release too!!! Thanks for doing a great release with "Move To This".

Cathy Dennis forced me to buy this
Wouldn’t have bought it if it was streaming but as of today it isn’t. One of the decades best albums but one of the only remaining cds not ported over to streaming...yet.

Music you can dance to.
This has the Shep Pettibone Master Mix versions that he’s done for this artist. That is the main reason why I got this CD. The music on here is fantastic.
