Tin Chinese Checkers

The tin is very thin and lightweight, and stores easily! The pieces for the Chinese checkers aren’t typical glass marbles, but they could always be replaced if that’s important to you. The most important factor here is the nostalgia value - this was the same set my partner had growing up which made for a great gift!

Old school and my grandson loves playing this with me. I had one just like this growing up in the 60’s.

Small and compact . Good for trips for adults or children. Light weight. Priced right for what you get.

Great game for adults and kids I use to play with my Grandmother as a child and still love those memories. I read the negative reviews and thought I could change out the plastic marbles for glass ones and all would be good. Well if you are a child, it could be, but I gave the tin to my grandson and taught him to play, we played a few games, it was difficult even for him because the holes are so tight together "no room for your fingers to pick up the marbles", he is 9 and still was bumping into the marbles. I noticed a scratch in the paint of the board by the time we were done. So my review of the product is just OK. The glass marble replacements for the plastic ones included shipping cost about $10.00. This game board is about 11.5" and the one Grandma had was 12.5 to 13.00". That one inch does make a difference. All in all, with the glass replacement marbles, it is OK for the kids, but to interact with them on this game board, you have to be careful not to bump other marbles while trying to make a move. Also the height is just the marbles height. If they overlap in a bag, the game board doesn't close properly. Shipping and the transaction was very good, but I was hoping for a board like my Grandmothers, this board is smaller and does have plastic marbles.

The marbles may have been glass at one time, but they are definitely lightweight, molded plastic now. The seams and imperfections add to their inability to stay in the holes and not roll around. The set is so reasonable, just discard the plastic ones and buy a replacement set of glass ones, available on this site for $8-9.00. It has been my experience that children need the board to have printed lines to follow for their moves, as well as a colored area to head toward. The larger, heavier, wooden boards are nice looking, but are significantly more expensive and do not include the necessary lines or designated colored "home" areas. This set includes those two necessities, although only three of the colored area match the colors of the marbles. Overall, it is the most like the original old boards and fine for a new generation to learn how to play this great game of strategies.

The tin is vibrant and colorful. That being said, the light-weight marbles are easily bumped while playing, especially by younger players' fingers.

The marbles were plastic not good

Las damas chinas están pésimamente diseñadas. La superficie es muy resbalosa y los orificios no tienen la profundidad para mantener estables las canicas. Cada que tiras, debes cuidar no mover todas las demás canicas. Además cualquier golpecito al tablero desacomoda por completo el juego. No he podido terminar uno solo. Pésima inversión de mi dinero.

el de lamina con hendiduras para poner las canicas las cuales se salen fácilmente y se hace un desorden. otro inconveniente es que no tiene el espacio suficiente entre canicas para meter los dedos y al querer mover acabas sacando todo de su lugar.
