I’ve used this net several times for catching butterflies and other insects, and I’ve been very happy with it so far. The net is lightweight enough to carry around for a long time, which is especially useful when walking through fields or trails looking for butterflies. At the same time, the handle feels sturdy enough for normal field use and doesn’t feel excessively heavy or awkward when swinging. The size of the net is also very good for butterflies. The opening gives you a decent catching area, and the net is deep enough that butterflies are less likely to escape immediately after being caught. I’ve been able to use it successfully with butterflies of different sizes. I also really like the extendable handle. Being able to adjust the length makes a big difference when a butterfly lands a little farther away or higher up. When I’m finished, I can shorten the handle again, which makes the net much easier to carry and store. The mesh is lightweight and works well for insects. I was specifically looking for something that I could actually take outdoors and use for butterfly collecting rather than a small children’s toy net, and this has worked very well for that purpose. Overall, it’s a practical and affordable butterfly net that is easy to carry, has a useful reach, and does its job well. I’ve already caught a number of butterflies with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in butterflies, insects, nature study, or casual collecting.

A great net! Beats my homemade broomstick with the toy net attached at the end. This net is twice the diameter and the extension aluminum handle is lightweight and great for catching carpenter bees that are attacking our house and outbuildings. The net itself is really deep and I thought a white netting material would be a detriment but it works really well. Definitely worth the price and the extension handle lets you adjust the length in tight quarters.

The outer ring is aluminum. It will bend easy if you're dipping this into a pond or lake. But the netting is solid and the pole seems ok

The butterfly net seems to be very well constructed The adjustable handle makes it nice. Whether you're under a roof of a deck or out in the yard, you can reach a short distance or a long distance. I've only used it so far. A couple of times to catch carpenter bees but it has worked very well. I would recommend it.

This is exactly what I wanted! The net is large enough in diameter to not have to precisely aim to capture an insect and the depth of the net does the job keeping them in. It seems durable and of good quality made of strong metal and has sturdy netting material. The handle extends easily and smoothly. It did not come with any instructions on how to assemble the net itself to the ring so I gave it to my husband and he had it ready in 15 seconds. I was making it too complicated with my overthinking! We are pleased with our purchase!

As soon as I went to put the net on it ripped. The net frame itself is of quality, but the netting leaves little to be desired. I used it for a costume on Halloween so it served its purpose, but if using for legit purposes idk if this is the one you’d want to get.

As a kid I had plenty of the generic butterfly nets with wooden handles. This puts those to shame - this is a professional style net which is far superior to any other butterfly net I've ever owned or seen. Highly recommended.
