Looks great at first- black coating wears off
I used this tape to wrap the exhaust headers on my Triumph Scrambler. It ended up being way more than I needed, I probably could have gotten by with the 15ft roll (for just the headers, not the whole pipe). It was really easy to install and looked great. I didn't even have to take off the pipes to install. Just wear gloves and know that the fiberglass will get all over everything while you are working with this product. I used hose clamps to secure the ends and so far after about 1 month/400 miles it has held up well. Stinky and smokey for the first few runs while it cures, but that goes away. The wrap significantly reduces the outside temperature of your exhaust pipe. I still wouldn't touch it but it won't melt your skin if you do!The only issue is that the tape is starting to turn white in the hottest spots on the pipe. It seems like the black is just a superficial coating that wears off at high temperatures. For what it's worth, this bike has an emissions reduction feature that burns up unused fuel in the exhaust which causes higher exhaust temperatures (that's why you often see the blue headers on the pipes of modern Triumphs). So maybe this won't be an issue for you, but I may need to go over mine with high-temp paint or redo the job with titanium wrap.

Use a sealant for best color
Perfect. Exactly as advertised. Taking off 1 star because the photos show a much darker color than what you actually get. This is more of an ashy gray color once it's cured. I recommend purchasing a can of black hi-temp silicone sealant to coat this wrap before application.Measure, cut, spray with sealant, let dry for 24-48 hours, then wrap from pipe to header. Use a vise grip or good set of pliers to pull the metal clamps tight. It was a little tricky the first time I did it.

One Roll Is Enough For one Set If Pipes
It came with just a roll of 2” wide X 50’.No tie clampsI needed to check the internet for instructions no Silicone sealant that also has to be purchased separately then it becomes very pricey

Does the job
So far so good but does create a lot of smoke on the 1st and 2nd runs after the smoke it’s all good

Wrapping it up!
never wrapped headers before but i quickly learned... Ware gloves!!!This stuff is like bare fiberglass. Gets in your skin an irritates you the rest of the day!I just hope it keeps my Mustang V8 a little cooler under the hood.

Does everything it claims however, the black graphite comes off & ends up on your hands while applying. Bought 15' but was not enough so I bought 50' Pipes do run cooler!

However immediatly I used a 10" piece to insulate the k&n cool air kit tube from the metal mounts
I planned I need using this to wrap the exhaust when I get a chanc. However immediatly I used a 10" piece to insulate the k&n cool air kit tube from the metal mounts..made a big difference on the temp of the tube. Great product
