Yes. It's a simple quick release lever. I bought it to mount a fire extinguisher horizontally in my van and specifically wanted a quick release lock. Works perfectly.

Q: How far apart are the screw holes? I'm looking to replace an existing broken plastic one

Mark, I returned this as it was missing the strap or catch. It was bent too! Terrible customer service.. had to pay return postage. In hindsight I would have bought new self contained or go to shop!
