EzyFast Ultra Compact Backpack Canopy, Pop Up Shelter, Portable Sports Cabana, 7.5 x 7.5 ft Base / 6 x 6 ft top for Hiking, Camping, Fishing, Picnic, Family Outings

I purchased the EzyFast Ultra Compact Backpack Canopy mostly to use for a sun shelter while participating in summer car show events. I have found it to be a pretty well designed and engineered little canopy albeit with its inherent limitations. The positives are lightweight, compactness, set-up, and quality. This canopy is very lightweight; - I weighed mine to be a mere 16.5 lbs. (compared to 40-60lbs for most 10 ft canopies) It is also very compact and portable, and comes in a sturdy bag with shoulder straps and measures only 28 ½ inches long x 7 inches x 7 inches.After a few practice sessions, a single person can set this up pretty easily in a little over 5 minutes. The most difficult part (like all canopies) is getting the expanding scissor-action top fully spread by one person. By moving from diagonal corner to diagonal corner and gently lifting on the top braces while it spreads and the spring loaded red corner locks click into position. The cover fits tightly over the expanded frame and secures with a Velcro patch at each corner. You then move from corner to corner expanding the legs, which consist of 3 sections each with spring loaded lock buttons. The drop down half-back panel can be used to best block the sun, and once set up this canopy can be easily lifted, moved around by a single person if you desire. The shade afforded by this 6ft x 6ft canopy is perfect for two chairs, a cooler and small items. Four metal tent pegs are included to secure each corner, as well as weight bags if you want to use them.The negatives with this canopy are the result of trade-offs required to achieve the easy portability, weight, size and set-up. The legs are necessarily less substantial than with a heavy-duty 10ft canopy. The smallest extension section at the bottom measures 5/8 inches x 20 inches long. That’s about the size of a small finger. However, the tube is square and a decent gauge of metal and acceptable if reasonable care is taken. The topmost tube measures a full 1-inch. A minor annoyance for me also is the entrance height of 5 foot. This is no problem once inside where there is a 6 ft 5 inch ceiling, however every visitor has to duck to enter or exit. Another 6-8 inches here would be perfection.Taking it down is a quick chore consisting of pushing in the spring-loaded buttons on the legs, peeling off the top, pressing 4 red lock buttons on the corners, and it almost automatically folds up to its diminutive size. Always place the carry bag over the folded frame with feet at the zipper end and next time you use it you just set it down, lift the bag up and away and you’re set.I’ve seen no claims about rain proofing, but the blue nylon fabric is silver coated inside and appears to be similar to a waterproof tent rain fly. During a simple test at home, water peddled on the fabric and the underside remained dry. The fabric seams are all double-stitched. I have not yet experienced high winds so cannot address that issue with this canopy.Would I purchase again? Probably, as I have no use for a heavy cumbersome 10-footer and have not found a better compact of this quality.

This was a great purchase. I was surprised how easy it was to set up. It’s the perfect size for 2 people.

Light weight tent that packs very compact and is handy. Just used it 5 days straight for a travelling auto enthusiast event (autocross). I didn’t have much space so this was perfect. Goes up easy and was perfect for staying out of the sun. Just keep in mind, the frame is a bit small and material is thin. I’m sure it wouldn’t hold up in high winds, etc

When I received the EzyFast I was pleasantly surprised. It was made beefier than I had expected it to be. My husband and me assembled the shelter. I then applied a waterproof spray to the cover as I do this with all outdoor shelters we purchase. We waited a day with it outside in windy conditions. It stayed up all day and never moved even though it was not pegged down. (That is my only complaint…. the pegs are basically useless as they are not very long or thickly made). We took it down the next day with no problems and it packed away nicely in the backpack bag. We will be using this to provide instant shade on our job sites. It is something I have been looking for as far as small and portable. I have purchased sturdier tent stakes to pack with this EzyFast. Overall, satisfied with the item for the money spent.

With limited mobility, I need a shelter I could setup easily by my self. This one worked.

This was a 2 to 5 minute 1 person set up. Very easy worked perfectly for me and my wife. This provides better shade than an umbrella and more room and ventilation than the half tent and enough hight for tall chairs. Highly recommend.

We received our tent and were excited to use it. We took it to a beach at a lake, and opened it up for the first time just a few days after it arrived. In hindsight we should have opened it at home, but trusted it was in working order and had all the pieces. It was clear when we opened the (awesome) carrying case, that this thing had been used and returned. It was shoved in the bag in a lackadaisical way, and when we began to pop it up for use there was a whole "arm" of the roof that was completely broken! My guess is someone snapped the roof piece and returned it because you could tell it had been used. Amazon did not inspect this item and sold us a broken, defective item! It was also missing the 4 black bags to use to fill with sand or something to weight it down with. Very disappointed with this experience. Be weary! The tent itself had very sticky legs and 3 adults couldn't even get it to go up and snap in place. All 3 adults have plenty of experience with these type of pop up tents. At least we joked about how much of a piece of junk it was. Instead of easy-fast, it's hard and slow, and broken! I'm returning it to Amazon. I hope they don't just turn around and sell it to someone else. Good luck!

This is the perfect alternative for beach or park shade without the need for the manpower to get it put up. It could be more sturdy or a bit easier to get down but overall I'm happy. The cost was a bit much considering what it costs for the larger version but they have the markey cornered for people who need a smaller version. Love that ot comes in a backpack for way carry
