Nice idea, but seems to be flawed
I own 2 of these locks. The features built into this nice new lock to make it a bit more water resistant are nice and I expect they work for the moment. However the soft rubber seals stand significantly proud of the U-bolt and when inserted through a metal hasp the edges are likely to get damaged. In fact the rubber seals won't go through the hole in one of my gate hasps so i have had to remove one of the seals from one of my locks to use it.So I have two similar locks, one has a seal removed so that I can use it and the other is as Yale intended. I shall see how they fare during the next year or so. Seals are a nice idea as water ingress has killed most of my old locks, however the implentation seems to be flawed and I suspect the seals wont be effective for long with normal use.

Quality lock: too early to say what long terms performance is like
A bit early to be reviewing this. Bought to replace a rusting Chinese lock that seized solid on the garden gate, and was easily cut off with a hacksaw, being made of cheese or similar. This one seems sturdy enough, and the rubber seal over the key entry should keep the weather at bay. We'll see what it's like after the winter, but so far, so good. It came with 3 keys, which is useful, although no doubt I won't be able to find the 2 spares when I lose the first one...3 years later, and the lock still looks as good as new, despite sitting outside in the Scottish weather all that time. The seal over the key entry works well, and there's been no need to oil it.

Time will tell.
This lock is very sturdy, we have used it on our shed. We have previously used a different brand which have lasted a number of years so I hope this one will also last a number of years. It has good waterproof covering and looks asthetically good. The reason for 4 stars as the other night it wouldn’t lock, however after meddling with it, it did eventually re-lock. I just hope it doesn’t fail at this time when there is a reported increase in shed breaks.

One of the best outdoor padlocks at a reasonable price
This lock is certainly one of the best medium security padlocks available at a reasonable price and is eminently suitable for outdoor use. There are other alot smaller Yale padlocks which are quite a bit cheaper which claim they are waterproof and for outdoor use which I have tried and they have all ended up in the bin as they have become very stiff or even seized up after just a few months use. This animal on the other hand is well built, the mechanism is very smooth with built in anti attack security features, and is easy to operate. Once opened, the padlock can be locked without the key by merely pushing it snap shut. There is plenty of weatherproofing around this padlock. It comes supplied with 3 keys in a blister pack and was supplied next day by Amazon. I'm delighted.

Using as Hybrid MTB disc lock, on 200mm 4 piston hydraulic discs
Yes, clearance of shackle to body is small for it’s intended use, as you could only fit a chain of 3mm in but it’s perfect a cycle disc lock. It looks a chunky deterrent though and is super cheap. Use your brain people and think out of the box.

Poorly designed -
This is obviously quite well built and tough enough. The big problem is though that where shackle spins out, the gap at any point is always tight so you can't get anything like as big a bolt or cable into the gap that remains when the shackle is closed. It's poorly designed in that regard and makes it less useful than it could be.

Does what it is supposed too..
Good lock, seems robust and well made. Some have criticised the small hole when the shank is closed, but check this sort of thing before you buy - this is designed for tight fitting (and is perfect for my garage door dead bolt).

3 padlocks same key 4 supplied for a decent price.
These locks are a tidy solution for outdoor sheds, gates etc, with what seems to be an effective rubber seal to keep moisture out. However, don't use with too small a hasp or you will be forever retrieving the rubber grommet from the open end of the padlock - they are only pushed over the clasp. I found that they benefited from a spray of wd40 and some repeated locking / unlocking as the key operation of one was a little stiff.
