Glossy, long-wearing high-impact colours
BETWEEN THE SEATSThis is a pale but nude grey, which is very light but warm. It is a beautiful basic neutral. From the first coat, the pay-off is really strong and it only needs 2 coats for an even colour, which is unusual for most other light polish colours. It has a very glossy and shiny finish.MASTER PLANThis is a medium warm neutral greige. It is a beautiful basic neutral. From the first coat, the pay-off is really strong and it only needed 1 coat for an even colour, but I did apply 2 for a longer lasting finish. It has a very glossy and shiny finish.PRESS PAUSEThis is a very pale cool grey. It is almost ethereal. From the first coat, the pay-off is really strong and it only needs 2 coats for an even colour, which is unusual for most other light polish colours. It has a very glossy and shiny finish.TOPLESS AND BAREFOOTThis is a warm neutral nude tone. The pay-off is not as strong as the other shades, and this needed 3 coats to get an even finish. It is too close to my natural skintone to make me want to wear it, as it looks like I've not put any colour on. The finish is very glossy.SERENE SLATE GREYThis is a beautiful slate grey. The pay-off is good, and only needed 1 coat. I applied 2 coats though, for a longer-lasting finish. Glossy and shiny finish.ON MUTEThis is an almost-black dark grey. Really good pay-off and only needed 1 coat! I applied 2 for a long-lasting finish. Not as harsh as full black so much more wearable. Very glossy finish.MERINOA glossy purpley grey mauve shade, which is a lovely neutral that works with lots of other colours. I applied 2 coats for an opaque finish. It is very glossy and long-wearing.APERITIFA gorgeous bright pillar box red, completely scarlet with no metallic. Very glossy. This took 2 coats to achieve a perfect finish. No word of a lie, this colour lasted for over 5 days without chipping or wearing away. I love it!THIGH HIGHA gorgeous sumptuous metallic burgundy shade with high gloss and reflection. It took 2 coats for a perfect finish.

Essie grey polish
The colour is fantastic, like a warm grey, with almost a bit of purple tone in it.The polish itself is one of the best I’ve used - applies super smooth, and can be fine after one coat. Dries with a matte laquer finish that looks pro. Also dries considerably quicker than others I’ve used which was a nice surprised. All in I’m very happy with it, one of the best polishes I’ve ever used.

A good mid-priced nail polish
‘Nude Grey’ makes a plain but interesting and attractive shade. It’s perfect for when I want smart nails but without making a statement. The brush is fine and spreads to cover the whole nail. The first coat was very thin and rather streaky. The second made a significant improvement and was perfectly acceptable but a third was needed to get a perfect finish. At least the coats dried quickly. After a few hours' gardening (not all of it with gloves), the polish did chip a little, but gardening is a tough test. A top coat may have prevented any chipping.I wear nail varnish nearly all the time. This comes in a pretty bottle but it’s a little smaller than the Sally Hanson or Nails Inc I normally buy (135ml for this vs. 147 or 140ml). It seems good value on a price vs. quality scale.

Looks fab on
I’m a big fan of Essie nail varnish so was looking forward to receiving this light grey colour. I’m pleased to say I wasn’t at all disappointed. It’s quite a bright frosted grey and brightened up my feet. The brush is soft and it’s really easy to apply. I found two coats worked well and dried quickly. It looks like tippex but in a good way - a lovely matt finish that looks professional. Looking forward to getting my summer sandals on now!

Interesting Colours But Slightly Thin Consistency
There are some interesting and slightly unusual shades in this range, which is great of you like to tread your own path instead of looking too mainstream. In testing, and across several colours, a common issue was the thinness of the product. It's noticeably thinner than some other brands and this leads to poor coverage. To achieve a solid colour without streaks you'll need at least three coats. This brings with it the risk of lumpiness if drying isn't complete between coats. Being less viscous it's also easier to drip it from the brush, so be very careful what's beneath your nails before you set to work, or you may ruin a dress or the carpet.Once applied it lasts well and looks good. So in conclusion, the colours are nice but with it being thinner you'll benefit from practice in applying it, to achieve the best results. If it were thicker it would get five stars.

The wife says, "VERY 60's"...
...how on Earth does she know, she was a 70's child!NAIL POLISH WAS ON LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE IT STARTED TO CHIP.Anyway, once dried it goes to a peculiar off-white.It goes on smoothly but did require a second and third coat. Therefore, it could work out expensive

Chic nail polish in the palest taupe...
These colours are from the Essie 2016 Bridal collection so they are soft pastel shades ideal for brides and bridesmaids. I got the Between the Seats which is a pale mink/taupe colour, like a very soft white with a hint of taupe in there. It’s not matte finish but the colour still looks quite flat; I like it, it looks chic and understated. I think it’s quite a wearable polish for anyone (not just the wedding party) as it’s soft and not a stark white. It goes on a little streaky so you have to work quickly with it on the second coat to get a nice even finish. It’s very quick drying too which is great, who has time these days to wait for nail polish to dry...
