Pleased with my purchase!
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The room where my washer and dryer is located is small, not big enough to have hampers or baskets in the same room if I want room to move around. So this sits right outside the room which is part of the dining area living space. I wanted something to blend into the room with a cover so that I ( and others) didn't have to see the dirty laundry. It unfolds easily and into shape out of the box and has a wooden panel that slides between the two compartments to help keep its shape and is not visible. It is a good size and the cover has a sturdy Velcro strip along the back for the cover and magnetic patches in the front. The hamper holds a fair amount and I have a hh of 4 so there is always, always laundry to do. The top is sturdy enough to pile clothes as you fold them. I have 2 cats. The big one can jump up on it and it will cave in a bit at the outside corner but does not fall in. My petite kitty barely dents the surface. Honestly the biggest challenge with this is getting my kids to lift the cover to put their clothes in as opposed to throwing them on top!Lastly - this comes with 2 big mesh bags to pull out your laundry easily if you have to transport to the laundry mat or elsewhere. They are also strong and durable. I gave them to my daughter and her husband who do make regular trips to the laundry mat.

I didn't think I'd like this as much as I do
I didn't think I'd like this as much as I do. I mean, it's just a clothes hamper. However, I've grown to really, really appreciate it over my normal choice of crappy, cheap plastic. This was super easy to put together. I get compliments on the way it looks it all the time. The top holds itself on one side with velcro, and the front of that closes with a magnet. The inner liners are really, really easy to remove and reattach (it's just two velcro squares, one on each side), making it painless to keep my laundry separated. The cloth siding is breathable, but doesn't allow scents to escape. I'll definitely be buying another.Update:While the inserts look and feel flimsy, they've held up without tearing even though I've crammed them far too full to carry to the laundry room. The magnetic closure and velcro backing are also still doing extremely well. Even though my apartment has poor ventilation, I can still throw my gym clothes in these without any scent issues. I really did end up buying a second one (on the way now).

Served me well for 9 years
I purchased this hamper nine years ago. For the most part it has served me well. The color matches the product photos (not sure why that one review said it's green, it's definitely what I would describe as "coffee"). It's a good size and fits clothes with room to spare by the time I get to laundry day. It has never smelled weird, looks good, and has a divider inside to separate clothes. I like that the lining is plastic, rather than cloth, so it doesn't pick up smells or dampness. The magnetic closure is a nice idea but in practice doesn't really seem necessary.I would have no issue recommending this hamper to others, unless you have cats. I have had four different cats over the lifespan of this hamper and all of them have seemed drawn to scratching it. This is the main reason I'm now replacing it, as the exposed corners have been shredded. The cats also love jumping on top of it, but the lid is not quite sturdy enough to hold them so it ends up caving in and freaking them out (you'd think they'd learn by now). So, this is a serviceable hamper, but probably best to go with a different material if you have cats.

MINE LASTED 5 YEARS!!!
I want to share that this laundry basket has served my family well. I honestly didnt know how long I have had it until I was thinking about purchasing a new one and OMG....I have had it for 5 years!!!! I used my laundry hamper for my uniforms when I was in active duty in the Marines to also having 2 additional children so tons of baby clothes. Im sadly realizing my hamper has a slight odor to it now...BUT let's get serious here....5 Years is a hell of a lifetime for a laundry hamper subjected to lots of wear and tear. I got full use of this guy and it was absolutely worth a review. Im a Marine and I give this hamper 5 stars for lasting and sticking with me. You have to take care of it and dont do anything stupid and she will be loyal and true! Thank You!!

Meh
They described this as having a "rich dark coffee color." I'd say that's true if you take your coffee with cream in it. There's nothing rich or dark or even coffee-ish about this color at all. They should've just said this hamper is brown and be done with it, marketing be damned. Why can't it ever be that simple? It stank when I took this out of the box. I think it's been in storage too long and the fabric needs to be febreezed and aired out a bit. At least I hope so, otherwise, I'll need to return it.But, other than that, the hamper is pretty large. I do believe it will be able to hold 3, maybe even 4 loads of laundry. It does seem sturdy and I do like that you can fold it down so I can neatly store it away in case I need to hide it. Not too fond of the magnetic lid, but I'd chose that over velcro any day.Update Sept 23, 2011: The smell was unbearable. No matter what I did, it would not go away, and it started to make my clothes and my bedroom stink! I had to return it, which was a real shame because there aren't a whole lot of choices out there for a double sorter at this price range.
