Great comfortable boot, very well made
My husband loves these boots, he had a pair few decades ago when he was younger, they had to be cut off him cause he broke his ankle being drug by a horse. He has always wanted another pair, but had been buying double h mostly, then he broke his leg between the ankle and knee on same leg and it also had to have a muscle flap done, now double h's rub the muscle flap area cause they don't come up far enough, these don't, so they do not rub his muscle flap and that's a great thing, as he didn't think he'd find any, thought he was going to have to give up wearing boots, but that's all he's ever worn, never worn sneakers, so for him that would of been a big adjustment. So happy these solve his problems, are comfortable and look great and they are made in the USA. Not to mention what a great price break, priced much more affordably than ever before.5 stars from this household.

Great boots.
THis is my second pari of these boots. I ride a big bike and typically boots will last only 1 or 2 seasons... these lasted 8 years with no repairs. That was with a LOT of heavy, constant farm-work in between rides.I see a lot of "one shoe fits too tight" etc. These boots will never fit comfortably at first fitting. It is normal for one to be tighter than the other, among the reasons: your feet are never the same size.Quality boots will require break-in. If you don't properly break them in these boots will never fit properly. When you get them, put them on and soak your feet in water (PUT THEM ON FIRST!). Wear the boots while being on your feet until they dry out. Within a couple hours you will have the best fitting most comfortable and durable boots you ever owned.

Chippewa Boots
These are high quality boots by any measure. After I read the reviews and looking at a sizing guide I purchased a size 1 or 1/2 smaller than usual. I think the sizing is about 1/2 size larger than normal. The boots are very stiff and tight which I guess is pretty normal for this type boot and I had to wrestle them on the first time. But once you get them on ( I tried on with thin-dress socks to help slide them on: my wife's suggestion) they fit well and are pretty comfortable from the get go. Seems they will take a bit of breaking in but I expect long life and comfort. The tops are not overly large ( I have 'meaty' calves) and they just fit. After an hour or two of wear, they stretched for a really nice fit.All in all, the quality is superb, Nothing seems to be compromised in the construction and once you get the boots on, they quickly begin to adapt to your fit. Nice boots.

"Five Stars Squared"
What a great boot! Chippewa has hit a World Series Winning Grand Slam with these boots. I am a repeat Chippewa customer, and am familiar with their standards of quality, but this boot was a very pleasant surprise. I was first impressed by the fact that I ordered the boots on Friday, and received them Monday morning with Amazon's standard shipping. I've waited longer for some online companies just to process my order for shipment. When I opened the box I was both pleased and concerned with the leather and sole. Pleased that both were high quality, sturdily constructed and looked like they would last a very long time. Concerned that it was going to be a long, painful process to break these boots in. My concerns were completely unfounded; as, when my feet went into these boots they felt like I had been wearing them for years. The fit was better than I could have hoped it would be, and truly feel like they were formed to a last of my foot. True to length/width (11 wide EE), snug and supportive without heel lift or tight spots of any kind. Although I have a high instep, there was plenty of room in the shaft to get my foot in and the leather was sturdy but forgiving. Most off the shelf Western style boots are a real struggle for me to get into, with narrow shafts and stiff leather. When I walked across the room I found the soles to be flexible yet stable with the right amount of heel height. Both the soles and heels are shock absorbing as well as non-slip. The foot area and foot-bed is supportive and very comfortable. The color and distressed finish give these boots the look of a very high-end pair of well cared-for old favorites. The fact that Chippewa can resole and refinish these, assures me that someday they will be my "old" favorites. I have been wearing these for about three weeks now, and they have become even more comfortable. After wearing them for hours on end while standing, as well as walking long distances, they have become my "new" favorites, hands down! At one third the cost of an entry level custom fit boot they are well worth the money. Do your feet a favor and give them a try. I can only award 5 stars, but my feet rate them "Five Stars Squared".

Great USA Made Boots. Look No Further.
Saw these boots in person, tried them on and compared in store to Redwings western boots. These are the better boot. They have a true sole, solid handcrafted feel and look killer. There was only one pair on amazon in my size so I said what the hell, add to my cart! Id get them waterproofed though if you can as this does not come standard like other boots.Amazing. Pricey, but amazing.

Sizing abnormal.
I take a 12D and like a roomy toe. This boot in spite of its price was not built for my foot. The toe was snug for a D. The heel was EEE. there was too much slop in the instep. I have Justin's and Ariat....no problem. These were simply not sized for a normal 12D. They were the worst fit for that size I have ever tried on. Big heavy boot.

I really like the look and build of these boots
I really like the look and build of these boots. However I read everyone's reviews and ordered a half size smaller than my Licchese's. The boots were too tight and I sent them back. I do recommend these for great American made work boots.
