not what I expected
I didn't like it. It was fiction and didn't depict the true pimp lifestyle. The acting was good but the story wasn't what I expected

A wasted opportunity
This film deserves 3 stars, but there is too much gratuitious violence and sex; It sets out to shock the audience. In my opinion, It does not work. The plot is daft. A documentary film crew are allowed access to the seedy underworld in various parts of London to record a documentary/mockumentary about a pimp (Robert Cavanah) and his working girls. The pimp (Robert Cavanah) talks into the camera and talks the viewer through the film/faux documentary. We get to meet various London characters e.g. pimps, hookers, drug dealers, porn barons, Chinese triads etc...and they allow teh pimp and the film crew to record everything.Daft.The prostitutes go to work and sometimes make porn films, and one of them gets kidnapped......and oh all of a sudden a snuff film pops up. Overall, it is well made, but like i said the plot is daft- gangsters would not allow themselves to be filmed. It mystifies me who invests in these films. Who are the financial backers of this project?'Pimp' aka 'UK Bad Boys' apparently grossed less than £500 at the box office; it was removed from UK cinemas after just one screening, according the IMDB website.Overall, too much gratuitous violence and sex, with beautiful women getting their clothess off and lots of unneccessary foul language. Fair play to Robert Cavanah for writing, starring and directing this film.4/10

“Cricket, after all, is a gentleman’ sport.” [Stanley]
This 2010 mockumentary [aka: UK Bad Boys] follows a week in the life of a Soho pimp - Woody - (Robert Cavanah) which spirals brutally out of control when a Chinese gang muscle in on Stanley (Danny Dyer), Woody's boss’ territory. Then a girl goes missing, and a snuff DVD appears, showing another former employee being murdered. So who’s behind it all?Filmed in a pseudo documentary style it features some good upbeat music, and covering the seedy side of London, this should be either erotic or intimidating –it’s neither [lose a *]. The world portrayed seems artificial and unbelievable while there is no real tension as we head to the finale [lose a *]. There’s an attempt at a love interest but the characters are too uninteresting to get us involved. This single disc opens to 3 trailers before going to main screen offering Play, scene selection, audio set up [5.1/2.0] and special features [making of, deleted scenes, music video]. With censored nudity and lots of swearing, there’s also graphic violence so it’s an obvious 18 rating, but never really engages until the very end, which stops this being ** rubbish.
