Hormel Beef Dried Sliced, 2.5 oz

That's what guys in the army way back called it. I can't find it locally anymore and my hubby loves it once in a while. I tried using steakumms. Doesn't work. Has to be this Hormel product. I rinse them first to get rid of the salt. Didn't matter when you were younger. Make a cup of Wondra white gravy and put over toast. Amazingly good old time meal.

I had nostalgia for chipped beef I ate occasionally in the Navy 40 years ago. Couldn’t find it locally so I ordered it from Amazon. Based on the recommendation of the recipe I was following, I rinsed off the beef slices to remove salt. It was unsuccessful. It was unreasonably salty, even for dried beef. I ordered chipped beef under a different brand that has approximately half the salt, so I’ll see how that goes.

Very disappointed in Amazon. This is a mini-jar of the product at a cost of 3x what you’d pay for the regular size. Shame on you Amazon.
