A great self-read book for any curious modern day middle schooler (kids 10+years in age)
I bought the book only out of curiosity because 20 years ago I worked with the author. Now that I have read it, I can say that it feels like the first book of a great detective book series in the making. As someone who grew up reading Nancy Drew, Famous Five, Hardy Boys and later Tintin, a younger me would have devoured this adventure tale! Set in modern-day Kolkata, and thriving on the chemistry of young cousins coming together over a summer holiday, the story is fun, well-paced and keeps the mystery till the final satisfactory reveal. The writing style will appeal to the young audience. A little over 120-pages (with delightful illustrations) the story is not too long. It highlights knowing about one's family history and working together as a team. A great self-read book for any curious modern day middle schooler (kids 10+years in age)

Extremely Well-written Storyline with Beautiful Illustration!
COMPLETELY LOVE IT! The book is extremely well-written. The story line is funny yet super exciting to read. The Mansion Mystery is definitely one of the best detective book out there for children and even for adults! The moment we received the book, we hooked and finished the book within couple hours. I like all the modern references with super good clues and twists. On top of that, the illustration is just amazing. I highly recommend the book to everyone. Can't wait for his second book :)PS: As an Amazon user for ages with thousand purchases, this is the very first time i have written a review...that explains how AMAZING this book is!

Adorable Indian Mystery
As a semi-retired police detective in the US, searching for a rated G book for an elementary class, this book was a great find! Some words will be hard for the kids, and some concepts like the sport of Cricket, but overall its adorable! I would have given a 5 star but the illustrations of the kids were American, which made zero sense. Kolkata is the scene, clearly the kids should be Indian. Great authorship and I hope to encourage the author that a cultural twist to Nancy Drew is greatly welcomed!

Fun read
The Mansion Mystery is a very well written book. I read it all in pretty much one sitting - I just could not put it down. The main characters - two brothers who are itching for some excitement and adventure in their summer vacation - are very well etched out. And once they hit upon their little mystery, it is fun to watch their detective work unfold. This is a great introduction to Nick and Neel and I hope there are many more of their adventures to follow.Fun read for the young reader and ones who are young at heart.

A cute children's book with beautiful illustrations!
It is definitely a great book recommended for children at 9 to 11! This book is light, easy to read, with an interesting topic which related to kids at this age. It talks about how these two kids discovered their family story in the big family mansion; this topic is interesting because it is like the ultimate fantasy for all kids who were forced to go back to their grandparent's house during summer time. lol. I would recommend this book to any parents who want their kids to read, but do not want them to read too many (bloody) sci-fi books!

A great setting
A good, plausible story in the setting of the large older home in India. Likeable, realistic children who solve a riddle they find.

It was really nice and the suspense was always on. It has very few pictures though. The story is really funny.

One of my son's favorite books
This book is about a normal family on their summer vacation when they discover the mansion mystery it is started by 2 brothers playing cricket on the rooftop when the bigger brother Nick hits a shot in the old forbidden room and the story keeps unfolding itself like a rose. The length of the book is good. It's breezy and easy to read. The text size is also good. My favorite thing about the book was how the flashlight was the key! I didn't realise that the elder sister was older until pretty late in the story. A must read and my favorite book.It is the best book i have ever read. I haven't enjoyed mystery books so far, but now I want to read more mysteries.
