Can I transfer data between two MacBook computers using this cable?

My apologies Roba, I don't have an answer but share the same challenge. Have you had any luck finding the cable you need (mac to mac)? I have a 2011 MBP and have a new MBP on order and I'd like to do the same thing as you. Any advise or suggestions?

I don't have an S7 Edge but when I look it up it says that phone uses micro-USB, not USB C. So no, you would not be able to plug this cable directly into the micro-USB port on an an S7 Edge.
