Hy-GARD is john deere exclusive formulation, specifically designed to protect John Deere transmissions, final drives and hydraulic systems. Hy-Gard oil can be used in most transmission and hydraulic applications calling for 10W-30 or 5W-30 engine oil. Exceeds the minimum requirements of the JDM J20C specifications. I hope this helps answer your question. I have used it in our 1050 as well as our new 4025.

Q: How do you use this without making a huge mess filling ? Some sort of pump ?

There is a 5 gallon bucket pump on amazon for $32. I funnel it into a Lucas oil stabilizer bottle because I have some leaky cylinders..😉
