Bittermens New England Spiced Cranberry Bitters, 5oz - For Modern Cocktails, The Traditional Flavors of Cranberries and Mulling Spices

After trying Bitterman’s Tiki (amazing!) and Burlesque bitters, I wanted to expand my bar options . The New England cranberry bitters are delicious whether adding flavor to club soda or a cocktail. My old fashioned with these bitters was a huge hit.

A nice bitters for Manhattan's and Old Fashioned's. Cranberry is a little subtle, but spices work.

I bought this for my son at Christmas. They loved trying it and the 2 other Bittermans Bitters in drinks over the holidays. He was impressed. They arrived quickly and well packaged.

These sounded better than they ended up being. I found them to be a little too bitter and tart for an Old Fashioned. Now I love cranberries, and understand how tart real ones are...but in a drink I do not really want to be a purist, I want great taste. I will try adding a bit more sugar to my drink, but I doubt it will make mush of an impact. Bottom line is, OK, but not great.

Not many drinks call for this but it's absolutely worth it if you are "studying" mixology. In particular I recommend the No. 42:2 1/2 oz gin (dry is best)1/4 dry or extra dry vermouth1 dropper full of Boston Bittahs1 slice orange peel if you like
