I have used several products manufactured by Autel over the years and have yet to be disappointed. This is no exception. The Autel IM508 pro is a powerful and versatile automotive key programming tool! It combines diagnostic features and more than 20 useful maintenance service functions, this integration (diagnostic and key programming) makes it a valuable tool to have for any locksmith, technician, or anyone that needs to program vehicle keys. Combining the IM508 with the XP400 pro gives you an even better value. (It's almost like getting the IM608 for have the price.) Out of the box it comes with 2 years of updates included, after that the updates are running about $350 a year. The tool will not become useless if you don't do the update it just will not have the most up to date information and will not be able to program the newer model year, but compared to the competitors the yearly renewal cost is extremely reasonable (I highly recommend keeping the tool up to date). I have pictured everything you get in the box and a few pictures of the immo screens. The construction of the tablet will allow for years of hard use and the case the tool comes in can take a beating too. If you want to add to your arsenal of quality tools or only have the budget to get only one then this is the one I would get.

Worked perfectly for key programming. Had a Ford with all keys lost and Autel programmed keys in under 5 minutes and truck started right up. I'm a big Autel fan and majority of my shop I use Autel equipment.

It’s a good machine to have for programming keys. In 2 months that I have it, I have programmed one Chevy key after pcm replacement and one ford after bcm replacement and had no problem with it so far. It is slow on updating and installing updates and I’d say you need to update it before you plan to work on a car because mine took well over an hour to update with a good internet speed and finally let me use the machine on a car. Had good communication with after sales department.

Claims to cover 2025 models but it has no software for the 2024 Acura ZDX regardless of automation vin or manual entry

Customer service is amazing just recently ordered the scanner so far it’s Amazing. I did not yet get to program a key with this one yet but I know Autel tech makes great products. Thank you for the great customer service!!!

As far as key programming goes, the Autel MaxiIM IM508 with the XP400 Pro is just as capable as the Autel MaxiIM IM608... at HALF THE PRICE!! That is incredible!And the vendor reached out to me to insure that I was satisfied and had no problems.That is what I call Support!I fully recommend this product to anybody who needs this type of tool.

Edited to say this is a true 2025 product just not for all vehicles; I own a 2018 Q5 and was trying to clone a BCM 2 but I was not seeing the chip type for that module in the software it can clone from 2012 to 2017 but nothing from 2018 to 2025.After speaking with the company they confirmed that my car manufacturer had upgraded the immobilizer system for the Audi Q5 vehicle models since 2017 hence why this device could not work with my vehicle. All in all this product as worked with other vehicles I have access to and been of great help in my profession so I am keeping it and adding 3 more stars.

I was nervous about buying this machine because my other Xtool programmer doesn’t make you pay a subscription for updates. It does work well though so far so good.
