It is designed for just designated transmitter outlet. The holes and their angles are specially designed. AKG and Samson are those. Shure and other brands are not fit in.

Q: Does it use a 3 pin or 4 pin XLR connector?

The JK MIC-J 071S Headworn Microphone Mini XLR TA3F Plug version works with the AKG Samson Wireless Bodypack Transmitters.

Q: Can this headset be used with telephone

I never tried, its not built for Telephone, I don’t know if any telephone have 4 pins input/output
